XC Direct Award granted to October 2020: What improvements would you like to see?

Propping up is the key word. Which constituency is Newton Aycliffe in? Sedgefield, Bishop Auckland or Darlington? All went Tory in Dec election. Cd make political sense to keep plant going there.

The Terror of Class 153 Rail Travel

Definitely over the top to have 2 158s on that service. How many other services were cancelled or short formed by Northern as a result? Inability to diagram correct units to booked services is one of the big failings of Northern.

    Hull Trains 802: Construction updates

6 mins will mean nothing to most people! What matters is whether they run or not and on time.

    Hull Trains 802: Construction updates

Another issue with a two set service wd be that the platform at Beverley is not long enough. Lock out one set north of Hull or add/detach one at Hull?

    Hull Trains 802: Construction updates

Nice pic! Anyone have any info on 305? The performance of the Paragons has been pretty good so far. 305 cd spend alot of its time not needed in service! Any info on future plans for Hull Trains? Article in recent edition of Rail hinted at operating new routes.

If we had a joined up railway all this talk of stealing revenue from TPE on York to Scarboro wd be unnecessary!

Stockport to Stalybridge: now runs in both directions; is it still a "parliamentary" service?

I'll pass on that label but the beauty of those first generation dmus was that you cd get a great view from the front seats-provided the driver didnt put tne blind down!

Stockport to Stalybridge: now runs in both directions; is it still a "parliamentary" service?

What a great pic. One of the 100s lasted way into 1980s with Cravens dmu 50812?? Dont think either were preserved.

Stockport to Stalybridge: now runs in both directions; is it still a "parliamentary" service?

In the very last days of the Deltics they occasionally hauled the York to Stockport leg IIRC

    Northern service to Scotland?

Drivers and conductors used to work 2 shifts each per day on Hull to Scarboro line. One unit was outstationed overnight at Hull. Now itruns up from Hull at 0533 so I think its all Northern now. Change was in 2018 IIRC.
