More FCC woes - Deciding what constitutes a peak time service!

I doubt if EMT will be too worried. They will get their cut of the revenue regardless of how many passengers are on board the service.

I have been waiting for advance fares to be released for East Coast on the 30 October. They are supposed to be 12 weeks in advance but we are now down to less than 9 weeks but still nothing. Anybody know what they have planned for that day. I guess some farely substantial engineering works...

    Travelcards and NRCoC Condition 19

As travelcards are a zonal product they are usually used in combination with a boundary ticket so 19(a) is the one that normally applies. Do you have a specific problem in mind ?

Passenger Obligation To Buy A Ticket

No because in the case we are talking about the ticket office was open at the destination station.

    New railcard

Yes but in the family railcard case there is loss to the railway. The price of two adult travelling together will be more than the price of two adult and one child with the F & F railcard so clearly the railway has lost money.

Passenger Obligation To Buy A Ticket

Its no different to leaving a supermarket walking past the tills without paying. You have used a service and should at least make some attempt to pay for it.

    Class 172/165 combination

I can see it is not allowed but is there anything to prevent it happening if the driver forgets. Mistakes can happen and as drivers are not usually sacked for a spad I really can see them being sacked for forgetting which unit was attached at the rear.

    Class 172/165 combination

Interesting about the 168 / 165 combo. If the lead unit was a 168 is there anything to stop the driver taking it up to 100 with the 165 on the back ?

Would You Support a Driverless Railway?

Computers would probably see a fixed obstruction on the track just as well as a driver would. The latest technology at Level Crossings will shortly include obstruction detection which can put the signals at danger if there is an obstruction on the track. Its probably like pilotless planes...

Service Leaves Just Before Relaxation of Peak Restrictions / Long Wait For Next

Why not ask the TOC if they will change the restriction to allow travel on the 0928.

    Chertsey to Covent Garden

Depends on which type of priv you have. If you are ex BR staff then yes. If you are a TOC new entrant then no.
