The Thameslink programme is extending all platforms from Bedford all except Kentish Town why is this?
Is it because there is a bridge to the north, and a tunnel to the south?.
Why haven't Network Rail looked at doing something with this, after all they closed the Moorgate route just to extend...
I've have just read The Great Central railway (then and now) by Mac Hawkins, and was wondering how hard it would be to follow in his footsteps?.
The book is from the 1980's published roughly 12-20 years after the line closed.
Nobody has done a similar book since as far as i'm aware, that would...

I'll start with a mileage of a station, anywhere in uk and you have to guess it.

I was reading a old rail magazine the other day, and there was a piece regarding the price of infrastructure renewal, projects etc etc.
Now it says in the UK we are a lot more expensive than our european counterparts, and a lot slower at track work.

Would be intresting to me, to see what new railways are being built and where they are going, and if they plan to share with network rail the disused section at Wednesbury.
It has just been released in various press that network rail is to close over 800 signal boxes and control most of the country from control centres.
We have power cuts everyday on the railway,if one area has a power failure it can be overcome by local arrangements etc, What will happen to all...
