Dont know if there has been a previous discussion on this, but has anybody tried to restore the Apt to working order? I know the one in crewe looks like its in good condition, how much would it cost and would it be feasible.

When will somebody take responsibility for the state of crewe station? Weeds growing from the roofs, derelict bay platforms, condemned offices, what does a lick of paint acheive?
Network Rail want to move the station to basford hall,the local council want to move the entrance to weston road...

On Monday night at approx 22.30,every signal in the Crewe PSB area went down causing 3+ hours delay to over 15 trains and cancelling over 30,this was caused by the local travellers that had arrived days earlier robbing cable and also a faulty SSP switch at Bbasford hall.
Something must be done...
Network Rail and the Thameslink programme are buliding at the moment a new 5 road electric sidings at bedford and also wiring the run around road next to the up/down bletchley almost to bedford st johns.Now just down that track at bletchley sits an empty fully wired depot that could of been used...
Does anybody agree that the amount of paperwork on the railway is to much,and it doesn't make the job any safer,whats the difference in today than years ago?i wonder if there are more accidents/deaths on the railway now than there was years ago?
Finding hard to believe but there was a signal box in the woodhead tunnels,was it located in the old victorian ones or the new one which was finished in 1954,

Ive been working on thameslink over the past few weeks and whilst at st pancras international i came across 2 new tunnels with nothing in them,ive heard that they will be a extension of thameslink network,coming out on the ecml somewhere near where the ctrl goes over the top,anybody clarify?

Ive heard that the length between the spans is to long,is that true?
Or was it the quick and cheap way that the headspans were installed?
