This is old news but I have only just noticed. The car sharing broker BlaBlaCar has purchased OUIBUS from SNCF. In return, SNCF has become a shareholder in BlaBlaCar. Curious how they plan to integrate long distance coaches and car sharing.
Anyone used BlaBlaCar?
According to

the Schönes Wochenende Ticket will be withdrawn next summer. The Quer-Durchs-Land ticket will be the replacement on weekends, but that does not allow use of U-Bahn or local trams or buses like the...

Interesting idea, but I can see arguments about delays meaning that the journey wasn't completed before the off-peak period ended. Other tickets tend to avoid the issue by dictating the time that the journey starts.
My colleague has a zones 1 to 4 season ticket on Oyster and travelled from St Pancras to Lewisham on Monday night via London Bridge, using Thameslink and Southeastern. The prepay balance was charged £2.40 even though the whole route is within zones 1 to 4. He called the Oyster helpline and got...
The provision of adjustable width seats would make a significant improvement in privacy on coach services. For those unaware what this is, you can move the aisle seat about 80 mm into the aisle, creating a gap between between the window and aisle seats.
I've now travelled many times on Flixbus...
In the UK, with some exceptions, buses are mostly used if you don't access to a car or any other mode of transport. Ideally, however, buses and other local public transport should be a tool to cut road congestion and generally be an attractive alternative to the car. But does it matter if...
SBB have launched EasyRide, a way of paying for your train travel by merely checking in and out with your phone. It uses GPS to work out where and when you started and finished your journey. It is currently available to those with the "SBB Preview" version of the mobile app...
Is there a reason why when I get a ticket to St Pancras (say from Gatwick), on some occasions the ticket has "London St Pancras" as the destination and on other occasions it says "London Thameslink"?
There is now an additional exit at the north end of platform 7 at Gatwick Airport, leading to the South Terminal coach stops. Exit for paper ticket holders only and no entry.
Passengers at Three Bridges wishing to go to Brighton from platform 5 need to go via Gatwick Airport unless they use the stairs. The reason given is the "ongoing heatwave". Aside from the fact that the heatwave is now over, how does a heatwave stop the lift working?
DB have introduced a "Komfort Check-In" service on some trains where you can indicate that you have sat in your reserved seat by using the mobile app, meaning that train staff do not need to disturb you during the journey...
The 201 service from Swansea to Gatwick is going to be extended to Brighton from 25 June. This means a reduced service between Heathrow, Gatwick and Brighton, generally every 2 hours instead of every hour.
Many people now know, if they didn't already know, that Northern Ireland is out of step with more progressive countries on various matters.
A bizarre law that not many people will know about is that electric bicycles, where electrical assistance cuts out at 25 km/h, are treated the same as...
Old news but I haven't seen it reported here before and I only noticed it the other day when in Groningen.
Two operators in the Netherlands have started using double decker coaches on two longer distance bus routes.
Qbuzz are running double deck Van Hool TX Astromegas on the Groningen to Emmen...
