The provision of adjustable width seats would make a significant improvement in privacy on coach services. For those unaware what this is, you can move the aisle seat about 80 mm into the aisle, creating a gap between between the window and aisle seats.

I've now travelled many times on Flixbus and IC Bus services between London and Brussels/Eindhoven/Amsterdam and also on internal German services and adjustable width seats were always available. Usually in "UK vs Europe" arguments, the superior public funding in mainland Europe is clearly a factor, but this can't be used here as coach services are fully commercial. Arguably, British coach services have it easier, because train services are (generally) more expensive and there is no VAT on British coach fares.

Its a no for megabus since its no frills and would create extre cost.
It's amusing that Megabus claim that they offer "comfy seats".
Having spent copious hours on them, they definitely aren't comfy in any stretch of the word.
