Sitting on Morebus route 32 in Bournemouth today, which calls twice at the Cherries Drive stop in Ensbury Park (because it does a loop around Slades Farm) it made me think it would be a good topic for a trivia thread - how many routes are there that serve the exact same stop (same side of road)...
On Saturday my wife and baby daughter and I will be travelling from Tonbridge to Bournemouth. We have Advance tickets.
Because of the Waterloo engineering work we are routed via Redhill and Clapham Junction.
The only mandatory train on our Advance ticket is the 13:40 from Clapham Junction to...
My mother-in-law is travelling from Belgium today on a Eurostar that is delayed by 1 hour 40 mins.
She was due to have a (roughly) two-hour connection in London to get from St Pancras to Waterloo.
She has an Advance for the 1835 train from Waterloo to Bournemouth (not a London International...
Some interesting job ads on the Rail Delivery Group site:

Sounds like some significant developments - that will address many issues oft raised on the forum - are...
Just a public service announcement that the Liverpool Street ticket office is closed for 3 weeks from Monday 3 February for relocation.
There will allegedly be extra staff around the TVMs to help people.

I have an LNR Advance for the 19:06 Birmingham New Street to Euston on Sunday evening (yes, while the football is on)
This train has been cancelled (showing as such on NRE) due to the staff shortages across LNR/WMR as documented here...
Can anyone suggest somewhere selling coffee at or very near Euston station that might be open at 5.30am on a Saturday morning?
Have checked the hours of all the places I can think of but no luck.
I'm sure it used to be possible to buy family Travelcards via trainline-powered sites but I can't now work out which destination to put in to get it to offer the right price.
Any ideas?
This weekend I am I involved in organising two groups travelling from Farringdon to Windsor and Marlow.
The groups are of mixed age and will be using railcards.
I won’t be travelling with the groups myself on the outward leg and plan to buy the tickets and give to those who will be in...
Buying some tickets today was surprised to be offered same-day Advances - not sure how long they've been a thing on SWR (I know other TOCs up north have offered them for some time).
We've discussed Trainpal (and their slightly odd translations) on this Forum before.
They've now added a feature allowing the resale of tickets.
From the release notes for the iOS app:
Planning a trip to Lewes this week I stumbled across information about reduced fares in East Sussex this summer as part of the BSIP, including £5 day tickets on some operators:

Given the number of TfL cases we see on this sub-forum, this section of the latest report of the Commissioner to the TfL board caught my eye
"The dedicated ITAP (irregular travel analysis platform) Investigations Team has an encyclopaedic understanding of our network, ticketing system and fares...
When they lost their franchises, VT said they would launch a booking site.
This has now launched as part of the Virgin Red app
Help site here: https://trains.virgin.com/hc/en-gb
Not great timing given GBR's impending launch of a single national booking site.
TfL has responded to an FOI request about the 15H

Not a great surprise given the financial context, but a shame nonetheless.
The London Northwestern ticket office at Euston is close.

We've had a number of threads over the years about how difficult it is to establish the fare payable for a bus journey in advance of travel.
The Government has just announced the Bus Open Data Service which will be underpinned by new regulations which will mean bus operators are legally...
Apple Pay users can now tap in and out on TfL services without unlocking their phone
https://www.apple.com/uk/apple-pay/transport/
Although it's not spelt out, the implication is that this only works at barriers/gatelines controlled by TfL themselves - could be some confusion at certain...
I am flying from Stansted on Tuesday, returning Thursday.
I booked Stansted Express's semi-flexible advance tickets which I have in eTicket format out from Liverpool Street on Tuesday, intending to use the return portion on Thursday.
Since booking it has occurred to me that it would make more...
