Trivia: routes that serve the same stop twice in the same journey

Sitting on Morebus route 32 in Bournemouth today, which calls twice at the Cherries Drive stop in Ensbury Park (because it does a loop around Slades Farm) it made me think it would be a good topic for a trivia thread - how many routes are there that serve the exact same stop (same side of road) twice in the course of a single journey?

Plenty of examples of services with circuitous loops that serve the same pair of stops, but not so many where it's the exact same stop that's served each time.

Monifieth Greenbourne Gardens https://bustimes.org/stops/6490IM827

The Sunday 74 serves this stop twice on the same journey, looping around Broomhill Drive and coming back towards Ethiebeaton and Carnoustie.

Two morning 74A journeys start here and loop back round Monifieth as well.

Also at Arbroath Bus Station the 73 serves the same stance twice on the same route, looping around Cliffburn before coming back to the bus station on route to Ninewells.

Central Connect ND (NovusDirect) buses in Leicester serve St Nicholas Circle stand FD towards the City Centre and on the way back to New Lubbesthorpe as it runs a City loop to serve stops at Leicester Royal Infirmary, Railway Station, Charles Street and St Margaret's Bus Station.

Timetable from bustimes.org showing it serving the stop twice: https://bustimes.org/services/novus-direct-new-lubbesthorpe-leicester

Some of the Luton - Dunstable Busway routes serve the 'White Lion Retail Park' stop twice on their way from Luton towards Houghton Regis.

Buses operate an anti-clockwise loop round Dunstable town centre, so coming in from the south, serving town centre then departing to the north means going round the west side of the loop twice. Example timetable (Arriva route A) here.

I don't know if that sort of thing confuses the real time systems - it (along with the 'frying pan handle' at the Luton Airport end) seems to confuse the tracking on Bus Times.

The couple of journeys each way per day on Carlone 442 (Staines to Heathrow Terminal 5) that divert off the main loop through Stanwell Moor to do an additional loop of Hithermoor Road serve the Stanwell Moor Post Office stop twice.

West Coast Motors service 480 returns to Ferry Terminal Stance 2 twice mid-route, as well as looping around the town centre and stopping at Morrisons Supermarket twice.

Carousel Route 78 serves borh the Police Station and Jolly Sportsman stops in Chesham twice. These are the same stops, not ones on opposite sides of the road.

Any advance on two successive stops in the same direction?

It might not confuse the real time system, but definitely confused me when I got on a bus and ended up doing a loop.

Transdev Harrogate Route 36 use to serve the same stop twice on Harrogate on Leeds-Ripon workings. When those were more frequent regular pssengers knew to change as they could then catch the previous departure from Leeds. Depsite that no longer being the case both shelters at the stiop have had 36 numbering applied to them in a recent rebranding of stops now including route numbers. The new route to the bus staion avoiding the stop on journeys from Leeds is also used by Flyer A2 from Bradford and Connexions X52 from Otley - the later without any changed route being notified to VOSA,.

Buses on the Go Cornwall 2 (previously Kernow U4) in the eastbound direction leave the main road to do a clockwise loop around Praa Sands, coming back out onto the main road further back than they started, meaning this stop https://bustimes.org/stops/0800COD40593 is theoretically served twice.

Southern Vectis 6 (Newport-Ventnor) does serve a couple of stops in Niton and Whitwell twice, with at least one being served in the same direction. There are a couple of Set Down Only stops, which I think are the only ones on the island except for the emergency short turn-back one at Garfield Road in Ryde.

East Yorkshire have several....

The 150 Hessle/Ferriby curcular stops at the same Hessle Square stop twice per loop.

The 183 Hessle Town Service also stops at the same Hessle Square stop twice per loop.

The 558 Brough/Elloughton Town Service starts and ends at EY's Elloughton depot but also calls there part way through the loop.

This one may be unique.....the 197 Pocklington Town Service starts at one stop outside EY's Pocklington depot and ends at the other stop at the depot but also calls at both of them during the journey!

Bluestar's H1 and H2 service a couple of stops twice: The H1 serves Chaloner Crescent in Buttsash, then does a loop before serving it again. Both services also loop round to serve Hythe Pier twice, with the H2 also serving the two stops after the Pier twice on the route.

As mentioned on the loop thread in #10, the 583 in Atherton used to serve the loop twice, but now doesn't do the loop before going to Hag Fold, but it still does the loop before going down to Tyldsley, so calls at Atherton Stop A twice.
Screenshot of the Sunday and Bank Holiday Bee Network 583 timetable as of bustimes.org, showing stopping at Atherton, opp St John Street twice only towards Tyldesley

It looks like there's an error in the data, with Oxenhope Cricket club not showing up in the data, that and Oxenhope School are not served by the B3 in the opposite direction at all - the Cricket Club on the other side of the road is only served by School services and the twice a day (but 7 days a week) K14 with the school not being served by anything.

Chesterfield's 74 and 74A serve Summerskill Green in Inkersall twice on the inbound journey, but only once on the outbound journey. It's just the way the roads are laid out.

And for good measure, visits the swimming pool stop three times. It starts and ends at the bus station, and visits the bus station two times mid-journey.

There are some in London.

The K5 serves Kingston, Cromwell Road bus station a second time towards Morden after looping around the town centre.

The 265 serves Roehampton Lane, Danebury Avenue stop M a second time going towards Tolworth after looping around the Alton Estate, though the second stop seems to have been removed from the stop list at the moment.

Route learning that would be 'in at the deep end'
Funny you make that pun, as the sole occasion I drove it, I had a single journey in which to learn it, and I was then tasked with driving the remainder of the day’s journeys - it was a bit very nerve-wracking!

If you're not fussy about numbering, technically an interwork which provides a thru connection may observe the same stop on different routes on one direct journey
