Just a public service announcement that the Liverpool Street ticket office is closed for 3 weeks from Monday 3 February for relocation.

There will allegedly be extra staff around the TVMs to help people.

The ticket office will be closed for refurbishment between Monday 3rd February and Sunday 23rd February at London Liverpool Street station.

Liverpool Street ticket office to close in February as part of improvement programme

The London Liverpool Street ticket office is set to close in February as part of an improvement programme to make way for a new office.

The ticket office will be closed to make way for a new one.

During this period there will be no ticket office facilities, but customers will still be able to purchase tickets from the machines at the station.

Additional staff will be available around the station to offer assistance to passengers purchasing tickets.

One would hope that the staff also have access to a mobile TIS in order to process discounts/Railcards which cannot be purchased through the TVM.

I presume this is all part of the ongoing development for Liverpool St with the recent gateline works? Where is it moving to?

As part of the gateline improvements, the existing Greater Anglia ticket office will be reconfigured with a new entrance next to the main station office. This will create space to accommodate three additional retail units by the concourse, providing larger customer facilities away from the gateline and improving the customer experience all round. The existing ticket office is expected to close in February 2025 for three weeks and a new ticket office will then reopen on platform 10.

Existing ticket office will be relocated further along platform 10 in stages to minimise disruption for passengers.

Went through earlier this week and asked about ticketing facilities. They said use a TVM or “any other mainline station” which isn’t great if you need certain types of tickets. Didn’t see any ‘roving’ staff with mobile devices.

Should be reopened 2-3 weeks from now.
