I used the 0939 Service from Bucknell to Llanelli this Tuesday and back at 1446 . Train was well patronised on the way down but lost 10 mins or so waiting for the Shrewsbury bound one to pass . Coming back it was on time but again lost up to nearly 12 mins waiting for the Swansea bound...
In my view a 3 year railcard is 3 years whether it includes a leap year or not. If they want to say its only 1095 days , that's what should be advertised and sold . I had a similar argument about car warranty with a leap year and got it changed 1096 days
Not come across this type of ticket before . Clicked on link to National rail conditions for it & cannot find it although the time restrictions are off peak. . I was just looking up price of a single adult ticket with no railcard. Can anyone advise exactly what it is?
My father was dead against flashers replacing trafficators ( Circa Middle 1950's) as you couldn't see them easily from the side but changed his mind when more motorways became the norm. He was right of course as side repeaters are now mandatory.
I was on a TFW journey last week & a couple next to me had written authority from the Ticket office at Shrewsbury to travel on an alternate train due to cancellations , with an official stamp and signature . This I suspect is an ideal situation & is not readily available under lots of...
I have been for holiday (Vacation) three times in the last 15 years in the US , on one occasion driving from the East coast to West in my own vehicle . It was great way of seeing the country as well as visiting friends and a relatives. It is definitely a diverse country but I did feel a...
TOC's will be VAT registered and surely if travel is Zero rated, a receipt should have the VAT number and nil in the VAT column . If it were VAT exempt it might be different. If I have a VAT receipt for repairs on my Car that includes an MoT it will show nil VAT for the MoT
When I first used train Travel in Switzerland we got on the first coach of the train which had a Number one on the door or near it, and assumed ,without really thinking about it, the 1 refereed to the coach number . When the ticket inspector came he told us to move further down the train as we...
I have just had a look at other authorities on the Welsh border and it does appear that each English Authority can make its own arrangements about granting cross border access. It does seem anomalous that England to Wales validity is more restrictive than the other way , but I suspect its all...
Yesterday I used my Senior Bus pass ( Issued by Herefordshire Council) to travel from Wales into England , ie Knighton to Kington . The driver asked to have a second look at my pass to verify it was issued by Herefordshire Council as any other was not valid for the Journey. . Looking at the...
Police on point duty , directing traffic. Used to be one in centre of Kidderminster before the inner bypass and if I remember correctly Barnsley. Some were like clockwork figures, wind them up & set them going!
I originally posted this as there is no mention on the machine when you first "wake it up" or posters to advise that paying cash is possible , and I just wonder if anyone not used to rail travel may be put off travelling . I am sure most just get on the train without much thought at all and...
I had a look at the Ticket (TVM) machine at Newtown (NWT) yesterday and there is no information on it or any adjacent signage, as to how one might pay cash for a ticket . I was interested as I had a Rail Travel voucher, I wanted to use. I found that by selecting a journey and a ticket type it...
