Some people are real dumb asses when it comes to trains, my brother got on a XC 221 thinking it would stop at our local station which is normal served by Northern's 323s...he said he was surprised when he shot thru it at 95Mph!
i think it depends on what its gonna be used for. If its a HST or IC225 type train then I think those types of existing styles are fine, maybe just modernised a bit...
If you including coaches, just make sure you do nothing weird! Just follow the MK3 and MK4 styling, I think its almost perfect!
New inter coach gangway connections with MK3s?
Have some of the HST MK3s had new gangways fitted between coaches?
Just something I noticed. Does anyone have an internal view of this difference? I've not been on an MK3 coach since virgin got rid of em
Ooh nooooo. They are really nice, they only thing I would say is at the top of the seat there is a ridge that runs around the edge which can get in the way if you sit up right. But other than that, the bottom is really soft.
Best refurbishment transformation, which do you like?
I always like the idea of refurbishing old trains. Taking something old and grotty, and transforming it into something nice, new, smart and shiny!
I think some of the best refurbishments have been done to MK3 coaches and 158s/159s...
^^ I think it will still be there, it looks very smart and think its popular with passengers. I think it looks even better with the white stripe rather than orange, as once the doors where painted orange aswell it looked a bit too much...
I think the S Stock is gonna be quite good, I think the front cab end looks a bit odd tho, but other than that, it has AC which will be great!

It was only the A stock that had opening windows. All of the tube stock and C stock trains didn't have...
naaa it just makes is possible to do it with out passing thru a station at 70mph and thinking "uh oh, i was meant to stop there" or travelling at 90mph and with out any warning the limit drops to 40mph!
Lincoln has suffered in the railway department. There is no direct link to London and going to Sheffield from there takes 1hr 15mins! I always think an express link to Manchester Picc should start...
Manchester-Stockport-Sheffield-Worksop-Lincoln...
Well I purposefully avoided going to uni in Huddersfield and went to Sheffield instead...
I just thought Huddersfield had nothing really going on, a bit run down in places etc...
MK5 coaches?
On wikipedia (I think) ages ago it had an article and come artist renders of the proposed MK5 coaches...
I think they was gonna be similar to the MK4s but be able to run at 155Mph or summit, and replace the MK1s (I think)
Does anyone have any info these coaches that never...
I spend waaaay too much!
about £100-ish a week on nights out and about £30-ish on travel to/from work! and a whole lot more on shopping sprees to the Trafford Centre haha
