Has anyone else noticed that grotty state of ATW's 175s?
I pretty regularly travel on them, not for very long tho, Stockport-Oxford Road...but sometimes I have noticed is how messy they have become inside. Particularly in the vestibule areas...The wall panels are all scratched and marked, and...
The longest I've ever spent of a Pacer (142/144) is Sheffield-Lincoln...1hr 15mins! And they is pretty awful, the return is even worse as I'm usually hungover!
For the UK to have double decker train they would need to have low floors for there to be enough room above! But really I'm glad we don't have any, as pretty much all of them train, except for the TGV Duplex, most look awful!
I'm the same height, and a lot of the time I am fine for leg room, but in commuter trains such as 323s etc I have pretty much nothing even when sat up right! The same goes for the 142s and 144s...I'm fine in other express trains such as the 390, 220, 158 etc
That was one of the best refurbishments imo! Ok, the seats are a bit too hard but that is it, the whole train looks great inside and out...not too sure about the coming out less powerful thing tho?
I think with the 150s it is a case of "it's old, so it's no good"...If they had a decent amount of money spent on them, then they really could be great! The 142s however...
urg why can't they just do it properly! The 156s have so much potential so be amazing inside! They put in new seats with a nice cover, new lighting, new wall/ceiling panels, new carpet etc
I would do it more like this...
180 > 158 > 156 > 155/153 > 144 > 150/2 > 150/1 > ATN 142 > Northern 142 > Walking > finger in the eye > shot in the foot > MR 142
