I don't agree at all! i think the 158s are some of the best 'express DMUs' ever...maybe not as fast as the very new ones such as the 180s etc but still very nice, the internal layout is great and the refurbished units, if done well and VERY nice! And in a decent livery, they look pretty darn...
Do they actually run 3 car 150s anywhere? I've never seen em before, I guess they would be better on crowded routes! I think the 150s could be very nice trains just given a lot of TLC!
What I want to know is, why on earth did they rip down most the elevated lines? The 2nd Ave el was ripped down...and now they are struggling to build, or re-build depending on how you look at is...the 2nd Ave subway!
Really is quite an improvement over the mess they started in! Its just a shame the seats are a bit too hard and the backs could be reduced by about 3inches...
I was on a 144s for 1hr 15mins Sheffield-Lincoln...The legroom was awful, but I put that down to the face that I was on a 144 which don't have much anyway so the seats are bunched up...
I quite like the Richmond seating, I think its real nice and soft, its just a shame the 144s have little left room, but I'm sure it would be good in FGW 158s...
