We often make comment over the years on this quiz about the temporary station that was erected on the North Union Railway to serve race-goers at Haydock Racecourse which was then closed as early as 1902. It was situated between the closed stations of Golborne and of Lowton.

Right direction, but wrong closed station. We stay on the line of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway from Parkside (2nd station) until we join the line of the Warrington and Newton Railway, as stated in the journey preamble.

I think it will be best to carry on from Vulcan Foundry.....but it must be noted that Parkside (1st station) was missed after ParksIde (2nd station)......
