I've bought some rail sale tickets today, Southeastern and LNER/GC, and in neither case was I offered e-Ticket fulfilment. All four journeys were single train, no Underground or anything complicated. Has there been a bit of a mistake made here?
As I understand it, the anytime fares in London are the regulated ones. Does this apply to all TOCs serving London commuter land? In particular, are any London Overground and Elizabeth line fares regulated?
I ask because I've just been there and the announcement for the 2211 LNWR service included the warning that tickets marked Avanti West Coast only are not valid on the service. They obviously expect some passengers to have such tickets or they wouldn't say it, surely? So, say you had an off-peak...
A visitor to my site has noticed an anomaly with fares to Dartford from London. There is an off-peak day single (CDS) priced at half the off-peak day return (DDR) which it says is not valid before 0930 or between 1600-1900. Then there is a POP single priced at the same as the CDS which says...
I've just tried to plan a journey for tomorrow from Crayford to Norwood Junction and return. Engineering work between Sidcup and Lewisham means that the fastest route is via Dartford. This is not a permitted route on a single ticket so the planner gives me 5 options but won't let me select any...

Briefly, the PAYG fares between Reading and zone 1 Underground stations were incorrectly entered in the system last March and people have been overcharged 30p (peak) or 40p (off-peak) each way. Those who hit the...
So, this afternoon I went to the Crystal Palace vs Man City game at Selhurst Park. Afterwards I got into Norwood Junction at 1710 and checked the departure screens. The next train on P3 was a Thameslink to Peterborough due at 1719 and next stop London Bridge. But the next train on P1 was also...
I've just been past the TVM at Crayford and noticed a sticker advising the above. Is this an isolated incident or widespread? It has been known that new notes would be issued for ages and I'm sure TfL have ensured their machines are all capable, so is this someone dropping a ball at TOCs?
At Euston. Was on 2009 LNWR service to Milton Keynes which departed and then abruptly stopped. After a short while the driver announced that we would be returning to the platform. Once there we were told it was cancelled due to a police investigation at Harrow & Wealdstone.
Quick question. Is it permissable to use an annual season ticket (zone 1-2 travelcard) with an evening out single from Putney (zone 2/3) as long as the train calls at Putney so it would be possible to board there as opposed to Waterloo or Clapham Junction? Further complication is that the train...
Thanks to a very persistent user of my forum, TfL have released the data for maximum journey times for all PAYG journeys. I have incorporated these into the results for the fare finder.
Walking past Crayford Station this afternoon had me wondering whether the signage is compliant with the PF regulations. You'll notice 3 signs along the side of the building, but when the ticket office is closed you don't walk past any of them unless you have come from the car park.
I'm currently making regular trips to Watford Junction, and because my 60+ Oyster card is not valid on LNWR beyond zone 6 I change between Overground and LNWR at H&W each way. I've noticed an issue with the announcements on platform 6. When a London train is approaching the platform it is...
Apologies if this has already been mentioned but I notice a mayoral decision was published on Thursday (separate to the fares freeze one) saying the TfL penalty fares would be increasing to the same £100/£50 as on the rest of the National Rail network from March 3rd 2024...
While researching another problem I've stumbled upon an odd anomaly with day travelcards and railcards.
Brentwood to zones 1-6 AAA 7-9 off-peak is £16.20. With a railcard that comes down to £10.60.
Cheshunt to zones 1-6 AAA 7-8 off-peak is £16.20, but the railcard price is £10.65. Same with...
Someone on my site has hit an issue with a day travelcard issued on a Greater Anglia smartcard for Amersham to zones 1-6. It worked fine at all Met stations except Chesham, Croxley and Watford (the ones not on the direct route from Amersham). It didn't work at Brentwood either. They said:
Has...
