Evening All,
Would anyone be able to help with the railway names of the locations detailed below.
I've added my assumptions, feel free to correct:
Dublin Connelly Carriage Sidings? - https://what3words.com/twigs.trim.copy
Dublin Connelly Depot Carriage Wash? Loop? -...
There have been several Class 93 operated intermodal test runs consisting of FFA-G Wagons such as THIS in the last few weeks.
The Class 93s used have the GoExpress logo on the cabside and are operated by ROG.

There appears to be paths in the system...
Hi all,
I’ve got a trip coming up to Ireland and was wondering whether there is a live map which shows trains and their IDs e.g. A123.
The Irish Rail App shows the live location but it doesn’t show the ID, is there a website which shows both?
Thanks for your help,
DRS has announced the sale of four Class 57/3s locomotives.
https://www.directrailservices.com/opportunity-to-acquire-surplus-rail-assets/
Given the loss of the WC Thunderbird contract and the general lack of work for these locos, this has been expected.
57304 is at Eastleigh Arlington

Hi all,
Are CrossCountry Dec 2025 Timetable Diagrams public anywhere given they can pretty much be derived from Network Rail data feed websites?
Thanks,
Are the headcodes (or equivalent) for freight trains in NI and Ireland known?
Information in general appears to be fairly sparse on freight in both countries.
Thanks.
I often hear enthusiasts refering to these two as the same entity. Clearly they are not, although ROG was the sole user of PX's rolling stock which, at one point, all carried ROG branding.
Since they both have Network Rail Operating Licenses, are these two effectively competitors now?
Thanks,
DRS has announced (via Facebook) that it’s contract to operate Thunderbirds on the West Coast main line has come to an end.
The comments of this post seemed to suggest that West Coast Railways has taken over - does anyone have any further details?
I would also assume that DRS 57s are likely to...
Is there a reason Heysham Port is still widely referred to as Heysham Harbour within the railway systems?
The Station code is HHB, the TIPLOC used in Northern’s own Diagrams is HeysHbr.
I assume this is just legacy and hasnt needed to be changed even though others have had their descriptions...
As far as I am aware, 222103 is the only train on the UK rail network that is half first class and half standard class. It is formed:
DMSO - Entirely Standard Class
MSRMB - Two Thirds Standard but includes shop
MCO - Two Thirds Standard and Third First Class
MFO - Entirely First Class
DMRFO -...
Hi all,
I have been trying to understand a service which was not on any real time websites - At 1815 on a date in August, a 158 was seen heading west out of Leeds on line 'F' where the junction indicator showed 'DM'.
I have assumed that this was an ECS to Holbeck L.S., does this line up with...
Hi all,
The attached picture has been referenced a few times on social media. Does anyone know what this container would transport and what route they appear on?
Thanks,
Its recently been highlighted to me how inconsistent the Off-Peak to Peak cut off is between some operators;
For example, Avanti state;
This however does not apply from Nuneaton (10:43), Rugby (10:34), Warrington Bank Quay (10:25), Macclesfield (10:37) or Wilmslow (10:13) (and others) where...
Response from Wrexham, Shropshire & Midlands Railway:
What action could WSMR take in this scenario, I assume another OA application will just be a waste of their time and money.
Last night, it appears 66796 and it’s wagons had an ‘issue’ on 6Z77 from Sinfin to Grain at Acton Canal Wharf.
I have heard reports that this was a dangerous goods emergency and this is confirmed via cancelled services in the other direction: 6V48
Does anyone have any further details?
Hi all, found these two for tomorrow operated by Freightliner, any ideas on traction?
They suggest a change of power source at East Croydon.
