JPSU Container - What does this transport?

The attached picture has been referenced a few times on social media. Does anyone know what this container would transport and what route they appear on?

It's odd as it piqued my interest too on FB this morning, but then I couldn't find the post again to reply to! I looked up the code that is in the top right of the container and the search results reveal a power unit supply company that seem to hire modular power generators and the like for temporary power usage. This brought up containers of a similar window/door/window framework, but not with the mesh part. The post on FB suggested it was seen on an afternoon Southampton departing freightliner.

That was my suggestion too on another forum - not necessarily a generator but some kind of machinery. The container would be travelling from whoever made it to whoever was going to fit it out.

They caught my attention too! They were on the 4S59 departure yesterday and there was a fair few of them in the consist.

They are owned by JP containers according to https://www.bic-code.org/bic-codes/jpsu/. So probably not. Maybe JP 'Supply unit'?

I'd bet on new containers made in the far east being transported to Aggreko in Dumbartonshire to get the generators fitted and potentially older unit getting shipped back for major overhaul.

Being for new equipment fit-out could also account for there being no Aggreko branding applied yet?

Having said that, I did pass a few of these Aggreko generators on the WCML at Wembley yesterday which looked pretty complete. Could they be returning south for onward distribution then?

Maybe JP 'Supply unit'?

The U on the end of the BIC code is an equipment identifier where U just means "freight container." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_6346

Those types of Containers are a regular sight on 4S59 Southampton - Coatbridge, have been for well over a year. I see it most days and almost every time you see them on the train. 4S59 splits at Basford Hall and half carries on to Coatbridge, the rest left behind for onwards movement elsewhere.

I'd probably agree with posts further up that they go up to Scotland for generators to be fitted as Part No's can be seen printed on the sides of some of the containers.

In my link in #3 above, these (or something very similar) are stacked underneath the type in the OP as Aggreko generators.

DB ran them from Southampton some years ago. (Around about the time that Aggreko's CEO was killed in a grade crossing crash in the US, I think.) There were all sorts - generator carcasses had fuel tanks built in with a fan compartment at one end; other types were switching units of various types. The side doors were a menace as they had to be outward opening, I used to have to cable-tie the handles to keep them shut.

I think I’ve seen these on 4S88 Felixstowe - Coatbridge, which I believe, like 4S59, splits at Crewe Basford Hall. Would anyone be in a position to know where the other portions go?
