Europheonix and Rail Operations Group - Competitors?

I often hear enthusiasts refering to these two as the same entity. Clearly they are not, although ROG was the sole user of PX's rolling stock which, at one point, all carried ROG branding.

Since they both have Network Rail Operating Licenses, are these two effectively competitors now?

no, as Europhoenix is not a train operator......

But don't confuse the owner of locos (Europhoenix) with the new train operator Europhoenix Rail. They are separate companies, and its Europhoenix the loco owner which has the association with ROG as they have supplied them locos for many years, vs Europhoenix Rail the new train operator which is a competitor of ROG.

(Yes there are links between Europhoenix and Europhoenix Rail but a Companies House search confirms it's perhaps not simple)

It is as simple as there is a common director and major shareholder between the two companies.

There is no major shareholder in Europhoenix Rail, there are three individuals each owning one third of the shares (or at least that’s how it was in April last year).
