    Have you had the virus?

Not necessarily. You may have fought it off with T cells. 1603925069 I had all the symptoms in February, including the loss of taste and smell. It was like the worst flu ever, and went on for over a week, and then there was the cough. I suppose it could well have been the worst flu ever, but...

    France announces National Lockdown

Aha. I bet he'll argue that as schools are staying open, alongside most workplaces, it isn't a lockdown. Politicians thrive on semantics

    England's new three-tier lockdown system

Twice as many people died of other viral respiratory illnesses than died with Covid yesterday. Should we lock down twice as hard because of those?

    England's new three-tier lockdown system

I know you're only playing devil's advocate, but I'm sure that the population would not tolerate having to live off canned or dried food for a fortnight. And before anyone mentions wartime, that was as a result of an enemy flinging bombs at us, not the actions of our own government.

    Relaxing restrictions for Christmas Day

It's Sun silliness only. The PCC is not the "police chief" for a start. That would be the Chief Constable. By and large PCCs are nothing more than ignorant overblown parish councillors, and have no influence over day to day operational matters.

    Gothenburg trip

For something transport-y I would recommend the Volvo museum.

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Why not just be done with it and either call them Dave or Sandra.

    Coronavirus testing

The test centres are empty because the testing capacity far outweighs the lab capacity. It's easy to set up a test centre in a car park. You need Heras fencing, traffic cones, a tent and a handful of military or civilian people to run it. The government can then say "look at what we've set up...

    Media Coverage of COVID -19

And it's not one they can blame on autocorrect.

    Media Coverage of COVID -19

Someone needs to teach Sky the difference between cue and queue.

Comparison of Welsh & English approaches to controlling the virus, and could we see a Tier 4?

I drove about 6000 miles during the March/April lockdown, including many trips in and out of Wales, and quite a few to Devon and Cornwall. I had my NHS letter ready, but it stayed in the glove box throughout. The only police I saw was a speed trap van in Bridgend, Wales.

    Yes it was Ed Conway.

    Media Coverage of COVID -19

There was one Sky News reporter whose name escapes me that was more balanced, but he seems to have disappeared from the coverage. Instead we get the likes of Beth Rigby, Aubrey Allegretti and Sam Coates who may well be very good political reporters, but have no clue about how to approach this...

    Media Coverage of COVID -19

The BBC have an over inflated sense of self importance. They believe that everyone will hang on their every word. The constant harping on about how they are Covid safe throughout Strictly is cringe worthy. Do they really believe that people will write in if they see two dancers together and it...

    Media Coverage of COVID -19

Not quite. B cells are the ones that carry the memory and can create specific antibodies. They are assisted in creating the antibodies by CD4+ T cells. CD 8+ T cells are non specific direct attackers of viruses, and don't carry their own "memory" as such. Both B cells and T cells are nigh on I...

Comparison of Welsh & English approaches to controlling the virus, and could we see a Tier 4?

Shall we start an Internet rumour that wearing Mickey Mouse ears will protect you from Covid and see how far it goes? Or we could go for Deelyboppers. Here is the Facebook Post I could make up: "A friend of mine's cousin is the deputy head nurse at East Middlesex Hospital. She has said that...

Long term restrictions, lockdowns, etc and the implications on mental health

A lot of the restrictions in the workplace are down to ignorance of what the regulations actually are, and mid ranking managers wanting to look important. You will not find one bit of hazard tape in a hospital, for example. No one way systems. Just hand sanitiser, which would normally be there...

Comparison of Welsh & English approaches to controlling the virus, and could we see a Tier 4?

Thee is no evidence for glove wearing. It should be forbidden in tier 5.

    Private landowners closing/diverting PROWs?

When walking on a portion of the Thames Path last month we came upon a sign by some houseboats that said "path closed, do your exercise elsewhere". Needless to say the sign had been chucked in the bushes by someone.
