At what stations and platforms are trains allowed to depart early?

Haymarket makes sense. I wasn't aware of the Raynes Park ones but it too makes sense. I wonder which is the longest gap between services, where one or more services are allowed to depart early. The next train after 08:08 Clapham Junction to London Victoria is the 08:14. The 08:08, left 08:01so...

Why don't access rights take into account fitting them into the timetable?

At what stations and platforms are trains allowed to depart early?

At what stations and platforms are trains allowed to depart early? More than 1 minute early. I am so use to a train pulling into platform 12 at Clapham Junction and waiting before departure that I was surprised today to find the 08:08 departed just over 6 minutes early. It seems platform 7, 10...

May 2025 Timetable Change - Confirmed Changes Only

This is fantatsic news. A couple of times lately I have missed the 20:29 and either gone via Clapham Junction, if my ticket permitted it or waited at Gatwick Airport for just under 60 minutes. Soon I won't have to wait so long.

Issues searching for tickets on the trip.com app on Android

My apologies. I should have said from 14:30. That was the search from time. Anyway it is working if I use their Web site, so I will do that for now and also try reinstalling the app. 1743261659 I resolved that problem and reinstalling the app worked for that ticket. However, I have hit a new...

Issues searching for tickets on the trip.com app on Android

When buying split tickets I usually use the forums site or trainsplit but most of my tickets are not split tickets, as that isn't a cheaper option for the majoirt6 of my travel. Currently I am using trip.com as they offer a 4% discount if you spend £9.99 on their train card. You get up to 90...

Are there any figures for how many people miss trains due to last minute platform alterations?

I once had a situation where a train was was announced as running fast between Surbiton and London Waterloo by the guard or driver. The station CIS wasn't updated though. I assume someone forgot to do so or some other issue. I was the one who informed station staff of this, as passengers would...

Are there any figures for how many people miss trains due to last minute platform alterations?

However I find late at night, some stations don't broadcast any announcemts. So when a train pulls into a platform at Putney, where it is claimed via signage, no trains operate on a Sunday, you miss your train. This is an issue late at night when less trains run and once caused me to have to...

First class cheaper than standard oddity

So could contractors move around the country for each contract they work on, some of which might only be 6 months? Or are you saying they should never look for work beyond where they live?

    Oldest departure screens

No it doesn't as that is a modern board. Modern naprds are great but given these had survived this long, I still think they could have been kept.

    Oldest departure screens

Given Network South East was being celebrated recently, it's a shame they couldn't remain, along with the replacements.

Class 701 SWR introduction delays: what should happen now?

But South Western Railway are not paying for the toilets. Here is an idea, how about they retrofit toilets on the 455s. I'll get my coat.

First class cheaper than standard oddity

I do travel in first class labeled sections of trains but only when declassified. They aren't that great so it puts me off travelling first class. I am so use to standard class now that I wouldn't bother paying extra anywhere to travel first class. Without some research how would one know the...

Well if they apply the letter of the rules, they can catch you either way.

First class cheaper than standard oddity

How does one actually know one is a civil servant when travelling in first? Unless they publicly proclaim it to all, I don't see how one could know.

First class cheaper than standard oddity

It is an odd policy because they are allowed to buy a first class ticket but not sit in first class, even though they are buying said ticket because it is cheaper.

Drastically different fares in different directions

Probably some anomaly that hasn't been spotted as usually to a more popular city or town is more expensive than away from it. So London to Portsmouth is cheaper than Portsmouth to London. Or it use to be at least. I've not checked lately.

DfT Permanent Secretary to step down

When did they discover this regarding the DfT? It may have been long enough for them to now have forgotten this was the case. As for DOO, the TOCs are private companies and does this government want a repeat of the preivous strikes?
