I didn't know. Wasn't too young at the time either. Not everyone reads every thread. And some threads are just too long to bother with by the time you stumble across them.

If you'd seen her on any chat shows you'd have known how unpleasant she has always been judging by the stories she likes to tell. Didn't realise you could reserve seats on the platform.

We had this thread Good Food Near Stations a few years back. Started a short time after the accommodation thread but died a death.

It's already happened with the VT only tickets from Milton Keynes to Euston. They now have morning peak time restrictions both way.

Went to the Cinema at Enfield then to the Backyard Comedy Club in Bethnal Green (free tickets!) so the day was great. But, yes, the rail bit wasn't the best.

I think I read on here that many of the lengths of track in the "four foot" (or even six and ten) were strategically placed for use in emergencies to replace broken rails.

Thanks Mike, that's very useful. Explains why I was charged £2.40 from Southbury to Bethnal Green instead of the £1.50 I was expecting! Not sure why it is so much more considering it was all now Overground.

I occasionally help out on the open weekends (hopefully be there on the 23rd this time) and the queues these days are nothing like they used to be. Same number of people visiting but they've made buying tickets in advance much easier so if you want to avoid the queues that's the way to go...

Not sure how widespread it is but you can use an app to order your food in Milton Keynes. Saves queuing but not conducive to getting two halves instead of a pint with the drink inclusive meals.

It's been said on here before that to avoid the Milton Keynes restriction, you only need a ticket to/from Wolverton. Can't see why Bedford would be any different. The ALR is a leisure travel pass so there should be no need for the train to call at the station at which you change from one...

To comply with those restrictions you'd only need a ticket from Wellingborough. Personally, I thought the restrictions were to stop people commuting with these tickets so restrictions on alighting at Bedford, Milton Keynes, Luton etc.. when travelling towards London seem particularly harsh...

Really? I'm sure the admin charge came in before Advance tickets became available. And in any case, you cannot cancel an Advance ticket and cash it in for £10, you'd have to change it for travel on another service and pay £10 + any difference in price for your new ticket. Or just throw it away...

Record them and then watch them one per week.
