TV Comedies that never made it

With good reason, it was dreadful.

TV Comedies that never made it

It was quite amusing but I wouldn't call it a classic. More suited to Rowan Atkinson than David Jason.

TV Comedies that never made it

With you on that. Very underrated. I'd nominate the Channel 4, Leytonstone-set 2 series of Small Potatoes starring Tommy Tiernan (Ed), Sanjeev Bhaskar (Rick), Emma Rydal (Juliet), Morgan Jones (Bennet), Omad Djalili (Hoss) and series 2 Fiona Allen (Eva). Classic scene in the cafe when the...

I don't need simpler riddles. I enjoyed riddles of all complexity as long as they followed the rules of the game.

Trivia: Shortest regular end-to-end timetabled service?

Brighton to Hove. 2 settlements with city status - just happen to hold that status jointly.

London Midland Super Off Peak Milton Keynes to Lichfield City

Thanks for this. Looks like the trip is cancelled anyway because the organiser has decided it is too much to pay a fiver extra (can't disagree) and won't consider GroupSave on the off-peak ticket (which would bring that down to £17.80 each so cheaper than the super off peak with full...

London Midland Super Off Peak Milton Keynes to Lichfield City

The restriction code on this £18 ticket has the wording "Not valid for travel on London Midland services timed to DEPART the origin station on the ticket between 1630 and 1930 in either direction, except on the 1902 Crewe to Northampton service and on the 1846 Saturday service from...

Pregnant woman forced to stand on train

Maybe the carriage was full of readers of this forum who followed your own oft repeated advice concerning the validity of reservations when the electronic system is broken. There's no evidence that this bloke removed any paper tag - anyone could have done that if it happened at all.

Queuing for buses at the same stop

Those that can only take that bus should get to the stop in plenty of time and thus be at teh front of the queue. Not that it (or your scheme) would make a difference as my experience is that queuing for buses in London is no longer the civilised affair it used to be.

    FQ's trips around the globe

It was. Ruined by people who can't follow the rules or try to be too clever. Same thing happened on the cryptic stations quiz. Thankfully there are threads like this one to compensate.

Trivia: Stations within same postcode area where you have to leave and re-enter

It would avoid an unnecessary detour via Shipley as stated. The direct route possibly just passes through a tiny part of BD17 and lots of BD10.

Trivia: Stations within same postcode area where you have to leave and re-enter

Not necessary - just get a direct train via Apperley Junction?

Nick? Is that you? How're you doing, mate?

    Fuel: Supermarket -vs- Branded

BP is the one brand I try to avoid for the simple reason that at my local branch in Newport Pagnell, they charge 2, 3 or sometimes 4p a litre more than the branches in Milton Keynes which are only about a mile away. He was a very popular bloke. I can assure you my story is genuine - I shared...

    Fuel: Supermarket -vs- Branded

I had a friend who worked in R&D in the petrol industry*. He claimed that all petrol companies supplied each other's forecourts based on proximity to whichever distribution depot - with the exception of Shell who only supplied their own forecourts and did not accept supplies from other...

    Victoria Line Summer Closure

Well, the official line quoted above is 15 minutes. However, I'm finding it difficult to exit 7 sisters and get on any RRB or 558 within 30 minutes so even if it is 30 minutes it's still not enough time at around 5pm. And I always position myself by the exit and walk up the escalator. It's the...

RPI Blakey. Appropriately for this thread, "In Loving Memory" Filmed around Elstree and Borehamwood with the depot being the old Eastern National depot at Wood Green.
