Clueless Rookie RPI Refuses to Identify Himself and Records me

I think that's enough of this thread. OP has received some suggestions, which I am sure they will take further or not at all.

    Northern Rail Tickets investigation

    Just ignore them.

How do I force a 'same seat reservation' for my entire journey through RailForums planner?

Just to clarify for others reading this thread, simply having too much/heavy luggage is not an appropriate use of Passenger Assist, and people misusing it just because they have brought too much luggage for them to handle by themselves only makes it more difficult for those who really need it...

How do I force a 'same seat reservation' for my entire journey through RailForums planner?

Correct! Or the operator has deemed you not worthy of a reservation, either via incompetence or intentionally.

Expansion of LNER 70-min flex trial area ("Simpler Fares")

Unless they were attempting to avoid a higher fare. Quite sure you wouldn't get away with it here..!

How do I force a 'same seat reservation' for my entire journey through RailForums planner?

You can use the seat selector to pick your seat across multiple split tickets.

Expansion of LNER 70-min flex trial area ("Simpler Fares")

My understanding is that there's some kind of long-standing arrangement where tickets to Leeds are accepted at Wakefield, including for advances. I know no details about it, other than I saw some hint about something like this recently.

Rail tickets in Apple Wallet with custom passes in iOS 27

Alternatively, they could be scanned instead! :p

Commuter help: Android widget for departure times. Easy setup.

Why? There's no rate limits or usage limits on the RDM API.

    Interrail on the Bernina route

I must say, I greatly enjoyed travelling in these and not paying for a reservation. Nice big windows (though not panoramic), and very few other people! You also got a view out the drivers cab (at least when the Italian driver takes over...).

Cross-operator ticket acceptance announced (excluding East Midlands Railway, OAOs) when services are cancelled

This shouldn't be the passenger's problem to care about! And I'm glad you've highlighted the viable and sensible solution. :) My issue isn't particularly with the OAOs being excluded, but more the local concession operators like Elizabeth Line, Overground, Merseyrail, and also the devolved...

London Victoria to Brighton ticket valid from London Bridge?

...or a ticket to Kentish Town!

London Victoria to Brighton ticket valid from London Bridge?

I'd like to keep my Thameslink Only pricing, please. In all honesty, I expect GTR to take Oval as an excuse to reform these fares.

London Victoria to Brighton ticket valid from London Bridge?

For the benefit of OP (@BankQuayLowLvl), you may wish to buy a ticket to the other side of London, such as Kentish Town for £44.80, in future. These allow you to travel into Victoria, including on Gatwick Express, or on Thameslink anywhere between London Bridge and St Pancras, and cost less...

    Loophole tickets and fares freeze

I have seen communications between TOC pricing managers and DfT where they have had to request permission to correct anomalies (mistakes) due to the fares freeze. I also doubt the DfT would refuse to permit a TOC to correct a clear error, or closing an obvious loophole.

    LNER Delay repay difficulties

The crossed out Peterborough - Sandy train under "Amended" makes me think the LNER form is quite confused and thinks that train was also cancelled when it wasn't. I then think it's compared the delayed arrival time at Peterborough with the scheduled arrival at Sandy, and produced a negative...

    Trainline selling misleading tickets

I'll refer back to @Adam Williams's post which I wholeheartedly agree with: Every time I've seen this, it has been the TOC doing poor things to services in the timetable, or some other mistake or misunderstanding of industry systems. I bet some people took joy in blaming Trainline when a...

    Trainline selling misleading tickets

SWR call their Anytime Returns "Anytime Open Returns" within the industry data, so I think it's a little unfair to say it's a retailer doing their own thing when they have no choice in the matter! :p https://www.brfares.com/!faredetail?orig=PMS&dest=WAT&grpo=0440&grpd=1072&tkt=OR2...

Is RDG's Journey Planning system fit for purpose?

Probably for the best, as so many rail tickets are ""valid"" on these buses according to the routeing guide data. There's no way to make them invalid in most cases, either, without changes to the data feed which I have suggested but have gone nowhere as you might expect.
