Rail - Sail / Rail - Fly to Isles of Scilly information

I believe they're "add-on" fares from Penzance to the various SkyBus fare destinations. I remember looking at this and working out why they (and the ferry) couldn't be sold via any third party a couple of years ago. E.g. https://www.brfares.com/!faredetail?orig=PNZ&dest=K259&rte=151&tkt=FZN

Can you use the return portion of a day return ticket if you do not use the first outward journey ticket?

European railways aren't profitable either. The lower ticket prices are simply achieved through even larger government subsidies, because they realise investing in social mobility brings economic benefits to their country. Our country would rather make driving cheaper instead. There have been...

Can you use the return portion of a day return ticket if you do not use the first outward journey ticket?

Yet none of them seem to apply to you, hence the confusion from all of us! I think questioning a usage pattern very commonly used for fare evasion is how you would detect fare evasion, yes. I don't think the example where someone's entire ticket is taken off them and they are given nothing in...

Severn Valley Railway to trial commuter services

And so does rail, and heritage operators are not excluded from that legislation. Good luck using it without taking legal action, though.

Deutsche Bahn is now selling British tickets

This service uses Atomised (potentially through another party). You do get nice whitelabelled tickets from it, at least! 1788282183 I've tried to buy tickets for mandatory reservations trains twice and both times it has failed about 60s after starting the purchase with a "booking status unknown"...

Faded print on All Line Rover ticket and poor LNER customer service

You get the rover accounting code (NLC) as the origin and destination encoded on the magstripe. Or, at least you should.

Faded print on All Line Rover ticket and poor LNER customer service

I'm sorry, but I don't think this is correct. The mag stripe encoding for a rover will contain at least one very clear and obvious element from the fares data which can be used to identify the rover at a gateline, and also the first two characters of the rover's capri code like any normal...

Trainsplit offering more expensive/longer journey alternative options

There are two "cheapest" at the same price. The second departs at the same time as the first but arrives over two hours later(!) than the first "cheapest". It makes no sense for someone to delay themselves for 2 hours for no financial benefit.

Trainsplit offering more expensive/longer journey alternative options

Only the Android app has this feature at the moment; not iOS.

Trainsplit offering more expensive/longer journey alternative options

The site will offer itineraries which present the cheapest fixed, cheapest flexible, cheapest fixed 1st and cheapest flexible 1st journey opportunities. It's quite likely that each of the other options presented some value benefit on one of these axes. If you had a direct train arriving 4pm for...

We could not connect to the services that deliver your tickets

They likely did process it immediately, but your bank or card provider does not, to be pedantic.

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

As far as I can see, it's simply being included because it results in a cheaper first class set of tickets, albeit because some of the journey isn't in first class! The system won't simply switch classes for fun, but rather because it's found an itinerary where there is no first class...

Delay Repay - which TOC to claim from?

I know someone recently who had delay repay refused by GTR multiple times, including by customer services, and submitted a Money Claims Online (MCOL) claim against them which was paid out.
