Thank goodness for Oval to remove our Super Off-Peak Travelcards before an alternative for ITSO support needs to be found!

New mandatory ticket area sign at Birmingham Snow Hill

The penalty fare poster wording issue remains on every poster I've seen nationwide. I understand the industry knows it is wrong, but there is no desire to reprint them all to fix it. https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/penalty-fare-notice-text.285236/

Penalty fare for travel outside London Transport zones on Oyster Card

There is still a "Zone F" (1111) which was originally intended for Oyster out to Reading on Elizabeth Line but wasn't used. As far as I know, "Zone F" remains available if a final extension to Oyster was ever desired, but I doubt it will ever be used, especially if Railcards on contactless are...

TFW introduces Pay As You Go in South East Wales

Oyster! At least I count it :p

New mandatory ticket area sign at Birmingham Snow Hill

I'm sure someone can create a creative interpretation of the wording. Maybe they meant it's a "mandatory ticketing area" in the sense that West Midlands Trains must provide facilities to buy tickets at the station!

TFW introduces Pay As You Go in South East Wales

With contactless, yes. Generally with PAYG, clearly not.

Avanti West Coast - Renationalisation on March 7th 2027

Am I the only one who doesn't understand how this is the "earliest opportunity", when the core expiry is in October, and there's a 3 month notice period? Surely the earliest opportunity would be today plus 3 months, or October plus 3 months, which would be in January? Do they mean the earliest...

New mandatory ticket area sign at Birmingham Snow Hill

No, because the signage doesn't meet the CTA criteria. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2018/366/schedule/1/paragraph/2

    Expensive new ticket purchased

The restriction of the ticket states either... or depending on which way round her return ticket was bought, so clearly her ticket wasn't valid on the 16:48 from Paddington in either case. This worked out cheaper than an excess up to the Anytime Return, which would have otherwise cost £115...

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

It will and it's completely valid to use, because train will run via Redhill. I'm not sure why you'd want to get another more expensive ticket?

I'm not sure where this has come from, but I promise you that it does not apply to the RDM version.

    Trainline - giving misleading information

No, because none of the cancelled stops would be their journey leg origin or leg destination. If it was cancelled from Reading to London it would, even though the passenger's booked train would run as far as Reading which is almost their whole journey.

    Trainline - giving misleading information

I would expect a cancelled leg origin or leg destination stop to trigger cancellation messaging from any good retailer, as either of these will trigger your cancellation-related rights. Of course, making it clearer that it's only a partial cancellation goes a bit further towards helping a customer.

BeeNetwork senior bus pass +train, validity?

Even if they intend to avoid a higher fare? ;) (I agree)

    Refund due to website error?

15 mins on the day, or the time of the first train in the itinerary, whichever is sooner. If it's next day or beyond, it's 60 minutes, or the time of the first train if you're travelling soon after midnight!

    Trackway - Live Train Information

You have, or Claude/<insert LLM here> has? I'm guessing Claude by the comments like "The empty state is one muted line, never dominant" in the HTML, though.

How much information can operators gain from paper / e tickets?

To be pedantic, there is no centralised system. In fact, the whole network is set up to be decentralised, so that every individual eTVD operator receives scan info about every other (relevant) ticket, regardless of whose validation equipment is used. Yes, as you say, there is no ticket number...
