Southern - not given the correct delay repay

I submitted a delay repay claim for 10/8/24 from Victoria to East Croydon. The train was the East Grinstead 17:20 which was delayed on arrival by 60 mins. However my claim was only approved for a 15-29 mins delay. How do I contact them?

Better service this Sunday than Saturday!

This is the 1st time I've ever seen this happen, when there's a better service on a Sunday than Saturday! Haslemere - Clapham direct is hourly today, but doubles tomorrow. I can't see any engineering work that would affect the timetable today. Is there any particualr reason why SWR cannot run...

Refund from TFL as bus stop closed

On my way back home yesterday, the bus stop I need to get off at was closed. There was no announcement on the bus that the bus stop was closed. So I had to get off at the next stop and take a bus back. What are my chances if I submit a complaint to get my £1.75 refunded?

Thanks for the tip, i didn't see that route. Returning in the evening rush hour, how busy would the Overground be at Whitechapel?

Most comfortable way from Croydon to Stratford?

I will need to commute from Croydon to Stratford in the future. Ignoring cost and duration, what's the most comfortable way? I've written how likely it is to get a seat based on my experience, but hopefully forum members might be able to give their advice. Outbound Option 1 West Croydon -...

    Youtube links and Video sites

I just watched this. It's like a different planet which leaves me very confused. Didn't people read books in 1976? And surely London ins't the only city where there are commuters ... mostly European cities have them for instance, not forgetting NYC too.

Is there a reason why SWR long-distance trains you cant reserve a seat?

Is there a reason why SWR long-distance trains you cant reserve a seat? Travelling from London to Weymouth is 3 hours which seems silly not being able to reserve a seat when London - Birmingham is half the time!

    London Superloop Challenge

Looking at people doing the Superloop Challenge He did it in 7 hours 33 mins He did it in 9 hours 16 mins Geoff did it in exactly 9 hours I reckon if one went for the 1st bus on a Saturday morning, one could avoid all the traffic SL7 Dingwall Road / East Croydon Station - Heathrow Central Bus...

Trivia: Transport for London's most remote bus stop

What's the most remote bus stop on the TFL network? I reckon it's Pilgrims Way served by the 246, as the nearest bit of civilization is about 30 mins walk away.

Transition to solo driving in the UK

I was curious when the transition from steam trains (having a group of people in the cab) to solo driving (I assume in diesel and electric trains) happened? Was there a hug backlash among the drivers and unions?

    London Buses Discussion

What do people think of this news clip from the BBC? It's incorrect as the 64 will stop when the lower deck is full and play the announcement "There are seats on the upper deck" until people move up. The 433 is another great example of a bus that's too small for the route. It often gets full...

SWR First Class - what is the point?

Pre-Covid, I had a 1st class ticket from East Croydon - Victoria as I had better luck getting a seat. Only had ticket checks maybe once a year. Also many years ago I had a 1st class ticket from East Croydon - Guildford, as even though it was going against the flow, the SWT train to Guildford in...

SWR First Class - what is the point?

Pre-covid I had to pay for 1st class to get a seat in rush hour. Now it's not so bad so I can sit in standard.

    Guildford to Vauxhall direct

Looking at the 07:42 Guildford to Vauxhall on a weekday. As it starts in Guildford, I guess it's very easy to get a seat? How reliable is that service? Returning on the 17:37, would I get a seat at Vauxhall, or would I need to go up to Waterloo?

    London Buses Discussion

I'm really enjoying the new 433 buses (Caetano e.City Gold). It blasts up the steep and windy hills much better! But for some reason the information displays sometimes don't work, typical technology  However, I think there are less seats in the previous models.
