What Should a Passenger do when Witnessing Fare Evasion?

Exactly, I dont want to have a bystander mentality.

Trains and the Rugby World Cup

Unfortunately I am unable to be flexible in my commute so will have to brave the scrum of fans. I'll take a small hidden camera with me to film any rasict abuse if that happens.

Queuing for buses at the same stop

I dont object but I think it would be impossible for a double decker to go through the estate at Selsdon with it's winding and narrow roads.

Queuing for buses at the same stop

I suppose with one or two buses that is OK. But if there is 5 or 6 in a row then it gets hard to see. There is also a risk of loosing your place. If I move 5 buses down to wave at my bus that is coming, the other buses would move off and my bus would go right past me.

Queuing for buses at the same stop

That's a good idea. I travel near the end of the route and I am often the only person on the bus by that time.

Is there a direct service from Marlow to Paddington?

    Virgin Trains Traveller Club

Are they still accepting membership and is anyone a member? Since the start of the year I have travelled every fortnight weekend from Euston to Manchester with an Advance and Off-Peak ticket. It looks like they offer free 1st class weekend travel which will save me £100s of pounds! But if I'm...

Queuing for buses at the same stop

I was thinking if is there a good way to queue for multiple buses at the same stop. For example, at East Croydon Stop E2 there are 2 buses that follow a very similar route (the 64 and T33) but split for a short while and come back on the same route. I would guess that 60% of people can take...

    Mumbai: Worlds Busiest Railways...

Just watched the last episode. I had a few Indian collegues come over to London once. The lady did not want to travel on the tube as it was culturally unacceptable for her to be so close to men. I'm sure the metal detectors and bag scanners dont look like they are being used? It's funny how...

    Mumbai: Worlds Busiest Railways...

The part about the rioting was interesting. It's a shame south Londoners don't riot when the train service is screwed! It seems to me that the Indian railways are much more focused on generating money for Mumbai, then here were TOCs are more focused on generating money for themselves.

    Mumbai: Worlds Busiest Railways...

Just saw the section on train drivers. This one driver had 25-30 one-unders happen to him in 12 years! I wonder how they cope. I wonder when they hit someone the lines are closed like in the UK? They dont seem to have any uniforms or ID.

    First Class Penalty on Southern

I do find on Thameslink it is luck that I stand in the correct place for 1st class. I have had to run down a platform at rush hour and missed the train. Also, on a Southern Brigton service, there did not seem to be any 1st class :o

    Mumbai: Worlds Busiest Railways...

Watching the 1st episode. I dont think it is more awful then here. They were only on for 15 mins. I've been on a train like that here for 2 hours. So a fine with £2.50 and a monthly standard ticket is £2.15. A lot better then we have here! There also seems to be more trains as they are 40 secs...

    Virgin Trains railcard offer ended

Slightly off topic, but is the LM journey from Euston - Stoke comfortable? Those seats look a pain to sit on for 2 hours!

I'm being stupid and dont properly understand ... surely you could never use an off-peak ticket on a peak service?

    Manchester to Horwich Parkway

Hi all, it looks like throughout September there is a weekend bus replacement service from Manchester to Horwich Parkway. How busy will it be on Saturday mornings? Will the football matches cause a lot of traffic in the area?
