On Diesel, they have an extremely good power to weight ratio, better than even a Short-Set HST with the 4-car version. Only downside is the small fuel tanks.
I'd imagine that they would eventually in the next decade be replaced by a universal Sprinter replacement for all the rural/scenic lines to simplify the fleet.
This image (from Twitter, taken today) shows 43169 and the other powercar disconnected from the 4 car set that was supposedly being delivered on Monday - it seems that we shouldn't expect delivery for a fair while if this is anything to go by.
A 4 car Stadler Class 755 doesn't have underfloor engines and will accelerate better than a 4 car HST, and it is possible to add things like sealed vestibules to them.
I don't think the rake is finished internally, if you look at the silhouettes of the seats you can only see the frame, and not the distinctive headrest that Grammer seats have.
I wonder if the tilting ability of the Voyager would have allowed higher EPS speeds on the HML and Aberdeen line? Perhaps Pendolinos could be used after electrification, as there are some very impressive plans for their refurbishment on the lessors website, as seen below, they seem far more...
