Hi mate.
I spoke to my current pension provider and they said once I sign up to the railway one, speak to them and see if its transferable. I will still get independent advice before I do if I can as it may not be beneficial to. Ill keep you posted once I start and sign up.
You will get to see your examples before you answer your questions which will jog your memory. Domt panic if you cant remember them, I didnt was in the same boat and it all came flooding back.
Thank you.
I've had mixed views on the best action to take with many saying freeze my current pension. I'm sure the railway pension scheme providers will. E able to advise me further but I'll speak to an independent advisor beforehand I think.

Many thanks mate, I did think that may be the case.
Good luck, I hope you get some good news soon for a start date. It'll all be worth it in the end.
Starting as a trainee driver in November and would like some advice on pension. I appreciate I'll find out more once I sign up to the pension with my TOC but just trying to plan ahead.
I currently have 12 years Fire service pension and would like to know if anyone has transferred a similar...
Thanks Jonb106.
Fully prepared (or not maybe!) for what's to come. I can only imagine it's information overload. My current job involved 17weeks training with lots of info and I was 10 years younger so going to knuckle down and put in everything I can. Back to school it is!
Hope you're...
Hi all
I have today signed my contract and accepted the role of trainee train driver ready to send back tomorrow.
I would like to thank everyone on here for the valuable advice and information, it's been somewhere I've come to for assurance and it has helped me massively.
To everyone...
So, I've just received my formal offer, contract and confirmed start date of 1st November.
Absolutely over the moon and looking forward to starting. I know how hard you have to work for the training, but I can't get the smile off my face!
Anybody else heard anything today?
Hi all
Apologies for creating another thread, I've tried asking a question in a previous GTR thread but didn't get an answer as it was a different recruitment campaign.
Is there anyone on here that's been given a start date of November? I've emailed about formal offer/contract being sent...
Good to hear it's going well. I've heard about dlp, basically candidate lead and using an iPad for distance learning? I'm in Dartford at the mo but moving to Marden imminently. I did hear most of the training would delivered by southeastern trainers. Is that how it's working with you guys?
How's training going for you mate? I've been following some people's conversations on here and haven't seen you post in a while, too busy revising I guess?
Cheers tracerboy
They haven't asked for any reference details yet so maybe that's coming up. Going to be at Ashford depot. Just itching to get the contract through and then it'll all seem real then.
