Totally understand mate. Once you’ve got your foot in the door and worked out what’s what, you can always discuss it with HR and find out your options. Highlighting the fact it may be a 2 hour journey may be a problem, although honesty really is the best policy and that is the right thing to do...
It’s only a problem for you I’m afraid. The company will move people where they see fit for the best operational reason. It’s a huge task on their hands with the new timetables and depot changes.
I don’t think the Ashford depot has even started yet. There’s a long wait for DI’s at present so once trainees start going through, more will be required. Don’t loose faith, you’ve got this far and the wait will be worth it
Great updates, thanks for posting. I start with TL on Wednesday and have been following this thread with interest. Looking forward to getting stuck in now.
Changing the subject a little bit and I know it’s nothing to do with the title albeit similar, didn’t want to start a fresh thread so admin please remove if required.
I have an upcoming induction at Kentish Town and have been given a letter of authority to travel on GTR services. I am wondering...
I believe it’s going to be a train crew depot where drivers sign on. Not really sure if many details yet. I’m starting training as trainee driver for the depot but not sure when it’s opens or if it’s already there and TOC moving into it.
Does anybody know when the new Thameslink depot in Ashford is likely to open? I believe it was meant to be 2018 but just wanted to know if anyone had a more acurate timescale?
Thanks
