    Fast ticket machines - 2hours?

I want to use red spotted hanky vouchers (hence need to buy online not at york station) but i'm making my travel decisions at the last minute tomorrow. Do I really have to wait 2 hours to collect tickets from a fast ticket machine? Or is this just guidance?

Hopefully someone can assist with me with this quick question as it's been a while since I've asked for an excess fare My ticket is a Kentish Town - Ryde Pier Head Rtn with Railcard (£38.50). I need to travel onwards to Shanklin instead 1. Do one way excesses still exist? If so is it...

    Network Railcard Question

I've got a journey coming up where 2 people need to travel on the outward leg and 3 people on the return leg, all using the same Network Railcard. The journey is Ryde Pier Head to Woking, on a Saturday, travelling on a Super Off Peak Day Return at £21.70 each. Would the 3rd person, who...

    Grand Central question

I've got a 'Print at Home' ticket for tomorrow, which I printed for the 1049 from York to KX, as the 1531 wasn't available. However, when looking at the terms and conditions, both on the website and on the ticket, it looks like it can be used on any service on that day, is this right?

    Ashchurch for tewkesbury to ryde.

I'm not sure about splits as such, but one thing I do know is that you should avoid splitting at Portsmouth Harbour. The ferry to Ryde Pier Head is included in the train ticket price and therefore the railcard discount applies as well. So by getting a ferry ticket seperately, you'd be missing...

    Excess Tickets

thanks. Might as well give it a go just to see how it works really. Very little price difference between that and Oyster anyway

    Excess Tickets

Here's an example of a journey I'm doing tomorrow which might need an excess: Return leg of a London Waterloo to Ryde Pier Head Off Peak Rtn with Network Railcard (£33.65). Once I get to Waterloo I need to travel to Kentish Town. Whilst Oyster etc is an option, could I simply...

    Excess Tickets

I'm a little confused about full fare excess and half fare excess. Clearly the 'half the difference' excess would apply to a return leg only (or does it apply to an outward leg as well as long as you're not interested in the same excess for the return). Does excessing a SSR to a SVR on...

Combining National Rail tickets with Oyster

thanks everyone. the 'swiping out and swiping in again' at somewhere like London Bridge is what I suspected. Interested by the idea of an excess to St Pancras - but would ticket offices realistically know what I meant by this, I guess they'd probably just want to sell me a Zone 1 ticket...

Combining National Rail tickets with Oyster

I'm not sure how or if this could work, any suggestions please? I've got an Off Peak Return from London Terminals to Portsmouth Harbour. On my outward journey I used the direct SW Trains service from Waterloo. On my return leg I'd like to get to St Pancras station. I know that SW...

    Excessing an off-peak ticket

Can a ticket excess be issued for a single up to a return, ie: if someone decides to make the return journey afterall, that they weren't originally intending to? This would be particualrly useful when the cost of a single ticket is close to the cost of a return. Eg. for many Anytime Day...

    Grand Central Cancellations

I've just noticed that Grand Central have cancelled their 1230 Sunderland to KX service today. Does anyone think this is likely to happen tomorrow as well? Also, I was wondering, is there any options if someone has a Grand Central Only ticket (in my case York to Kings Cross Off Peack Rtn...

    Missing train fare?

yes that's right, the fare didn't appear as for a through journey. it also didn't appear as a journey at all on National Rail, whereas it always has done. it's not an issue to do with the connecting bus and ferry in Southampton, because as far as I'm aware these arrangements haven't...
