    Missing train fare?

I've done a few searches on South West Trains and East Coast websites for fares from January onwards. Oddly, I cannot find a London Waterloo to West Cowes fare, on either site, in either direction, searching on a variety of dates. I can however, find the London Waterloo to Ryde Pier Head...

    Finding out new fares

I've done a few searchs on fares for journeys starting in January, just out of curiosity to find out what the new fares might be. DOesn't seem to be any change. Obviously good news if you want to buy tickets now for travel in January, at the old prices. However, I just want to know what...

Havant - Leicester - what ticket would you sell?

Yes that's right. I would have been allowed on FCC but not EMT and that's from the same station, St Pancras. However, it was at around 1700. The EMT evening peak had begun by that point, but the FCC evening peak hadn't begun. I wonder if that has something to do with it. Also...

Havant - Leicester - what ticket would you sell?

I wonder if this example is of any interest here. I actually did a journey from Portsmouth (having come from Ryde originally) to Bedford a few weeks ago. The train left Portsmouth around 3pm or so. It was an Off Peak ticket. When I got to St Pancras, I found that the ticket barriers and...

Un-Reserved Seating - Grand Central Trains...

you might also get lucky and get a first class carriage that has been 'declassified' so you can travel in a more spacious carriage with a standard class ticket. That's happened to me twice out of 4 journeys in the last 6 months. Is this quite common for Grand Central ?

    Network Railcard question

just a quick question about the validity of a network railcard. I think the answer is no, but worth checking: My dad owns a network railcard and often travels with my mum as well, both getting a 3rd off of course. Would the railcard (which is in his name) be valid for my mum to make an...

    New NFM 04

is a new version released just because there's a few price changes? are most price rises saved until January, when another new version will be released?

    Refunding a return portion

I have a return portion of an Off Peak return from Bedford to Ryde Pier Head with a Network Railcard, priced £39.65. I would like to apply to SW Trains (I brought the ticket on their website and collected it from a fast ticket machine) for a refund. The outward portion has been used and...

    London to Portsmouth and/or Southampton

I suspected that 'doubling back' rule might be an issue. What about the Portsmouth stations (including Fratton?) being in a group, does that affect things or not? Also, yes I often do buy through tickets to the IOW. This routing question should permit me to do a ferry crossing between...

    London to Portsmouth and/or Southampton

Thanks. Would the same apply for a journey starting north of London, eg. York, or Bedford? ie: the same routing possibilitie valid once I get to Waterloo, even though my ticket starts in a different place?

    London to Portsmouth and/or Southampton

Occasionally I travel from London to either Portsmouth or Southampton to get to the IOW. I'm interested in the validity return tickets to either, as follows. All for off peak returns with a network railcard: 1. London to Southampton. Is this valid via Portsmouth Harbour? Is it so in...

    Grand Central Discussion

one of the new services (1918 from KX) is showing up on the National Rail site for the week beginning 17th August. I haven't checked the others. Does anyone know how I can go about doing a 'print at home' ticket for this service as they're not shoing up on that part of the grandcentral...

Bedford to Ryde Off Peak Return

thanks. i'll take a copy of the trainline webpage and this discussion as well. where would I get more detailed restriction code information, and also the avantix software?

    Grand Central Discussion

is there a special offer on with Grand Central for august? I've done a search on their 'print at home' mobitix page for some journeys in august between York and Kings Cross and prices like £20.33 appear alot, which looks like a 3rd off. Is this a mistake, because there's no anouncement...

Bedford to Ryde Off Peak Return

I'm a little confused about peak time trains out of St Pancras. The East Midlands Trains timetable clearly shows that I'd need an Anytime ticket to travel from St Pancras to Bedford before 7pm or so, as I would usually expect. However, I've looked up fares on the trainline.com for...

    Excessing a Grand Central Ticket

thanks, that £78 is perfect, similar to what I was looking for, better in fact as i can just book the day before and print at home when I know my travel plans.

    one month validity

if I buy an Off Peak or Anytime Rtn ticket that's valid for one month on 2nd August, will it be valid for the return journey on the 2nd September, or just up to the day before?

    Excessing a Grand Central Ticket

yes it's interesting because I honestly thought that the 'half the difference' concept was automatically the normal one. clearly i won't rely on that in the future then. I can do an Off Peak GC Sgl - £35 - one way and an Anytime GC Sgl - £58 - the other way. Would that be better than...

    Excessing a Grand Central Ticket

i've excessed a York-KX Off Peak Rtn (any TOC) before when having to travel on a peak train out of KX, ie: paying half of the difference. Is the only difference here because it's a TOC specific ticket ?
