What can I look forward to on the GWR stopper. Will be on the
2C73 1100 Cardiff Central to Taunton on Saturday 1 September.
Hoping it won't be a Pacer.
Is there much pattern at the moment as to whether it's likely to be a 2 or 3 car 175?
Am booked onto 1V40 on Friday 14 September, 1130 ManPicc-Carmarthen.
Not sure what happened with above post #6. This rover is not one you can use as you wish. It's for one circuit in one direction only with no doubling back (except on the Shrewsbury link).
I quote "Heart of Wales Circular Day Ranger offers a circular journey in either direction around the circuit...
The Heart of Wales Day Ranger is £39, for 2days £59. Allows one circuit from any station en route. eg Abergavenny to Swansea to Shrewsbury via HOW to Abergavenny.
I know doubling back isn't allowed but as the ticket is valid to Shrewsbury is doubling back allowed between Shrewsbury/Church Stretten & Craven Arms? Or is this only allowed when purchased from Shrewsbury or Church Stretten to get you back to your origin station.
I'd like to go Abergavenny...
A couple of posts have mentioned a strike on XC over the Xmas/NY period. I'm travelling on 27th Bristol TM - Sheffield and 31st December 0854Shf-Taunton. Has anything been confirmed? Will my journey be affected?
I'm travelling on 31st December on the first XC service south from Sheffield at 0854.
In the Diagrams thread it is an HST and on Real Time Trains.
Is this likely to be the case on NYEve?
Thanks
I've booked Manchester Picc to Dublin sail rail. The train arrives at Holyhead at 1120 for the 1150 Swift ferry departure. The minimum check in for foot passengers is 30minutes. This train service is often a few minutes late. What are my chances of getting this ferry if the train arrives at 1130...
What would have worked this on 28/7/17? It is showing as a DMU with first & second class.

I guess it was linked to the vandalism delays as it usually works to Holyhead - which it looks like it did as a separate service...
First Hull Trains are offering 'not via Reading' tickets for journies via Reading.
Eg 8/7/17 Oxford - Abergavenny 0929 - 1234 Super Off Peak return £31.95. It also offers a seat reservation and allows me to buy the ticket. I assume it is a mistake as in the last couple of days the 1129 and 1329...
I notice the 1155 & 1355 ex Sheffield going south are HST's on Real Time Trains. Is this likely to be correct as they are 'planned services' on RTT. Date I was looking is Saturday 22 October for a trip SHF to Taunton.
If the booked train is late can I use an earlier service, for eg if I have to get to my destination for an appointment and the late booked service wouldn't get me there in time?
Just booking a super off peak rtn with Two Together rcard, Abergavenny to Paddington 20 August 0835 & Pad - Agv 3 September 1645, both change Newport.
On GWR site it says no seat reservations available with this ticket.
On trainline it offers seat reservations for the outward but not rtn...
