Was lucky enough to see 47501 working in multi with 37059 in August 2008 on a stoneblower move.
Never remember reading reports of a 47 / 37 or 20 in multi before or after either so not sure how many times DRS actually did this.
Since Rugby is served by Birmingham trains then I hope they keep those services especially as it is cheaper and quicker to travel by VT from RUG to BHM than it is on LM!
You can normally see headcodes on pendolino door panels when they are stopped at stations. Other than that don't think there are many trains that have headcodes shown on them these days.
On TOPS lists the train reporting code is actually 10 digits long. I know that digits 3,4,5,6 are the headcodes we usually see. I believe the last 2 are used to identify the day the train originally started in service as lists I have seen today have most of these ending in 05.
The 4 ATW 57s were still leased & used by Virgin and were only on a sub lease to Arriva. Not sure of the details but VT liveried 57s did very occasionally turn up on the ATW service as well.
Is 157 definitely in service? Not seen any reports (except the one in this thread) of 157 having run anywhere. Not even sure it has been out on a test run yet since it was delivered.
Also, I believe 131 is still in the test running phase. I saw it today running Edge Hill - Euston and return.
Should that be 3101/3102, the Belgian set? I remember seeing those stored at Temple Mills in the past and thought that 3301/3302 were currently on hire to SNCF and being used in France.
So when do the old cards supposedly finish?
Also, why if I need to register for a new card have I not had an email telling me about this and the first I know about it is from a railway forum? I've had offers by email before so they've got my address.
I also used a Pumpkin on Saturday and...
Seems odd that 1P05 would go from a 5 coach voyager to a 11 coach pendo! I would have thought that the 18:57 FO service to Manchester would be more likely to get a 11 car pendolino.
I was on that, such a long ago now (although checking my records it was actually 11th July 2009), then had 87002 a fortnight later covering the AC part of the 'Brighton Rocks with AC/DC' Flamboyant tour from Doncaster to Brighton.
I can confirm that all the times I have seen the 19:03 on a Wednesday night it has always been a Pendolino.
The only time I have seen it run as a double voyager was on a Friday when it arrived at New Street.
