66302 is actually working on 4S49 Dirft - Grangemouth tonight as seen at Rugby.

IIRC that was the point of getting the 57s though, to clear the line much quicker than using a loco fitted with an 'emergency' coupler. Also, if NR have run tests last year with 57s hauling tightlock and dellner fitted units that would suggest the mods are ready for use. If they are not...

Yet when a cable fault knocked the power out near Canterbury stranding a unit a 66 was called to rescue, although it wasn't eventually used, rather than one of these fancy 57s NR have got! Might also help if the 57s weren't all parked up at Eastleigh :roll:

I've had a look and cannot find any discounted tickets for travelling between Rugby and Watford, which seems odd as they have always been included in previous LM sales. :-? There are sales tickets from RUG-NMP and NMP-WFJ which add up to a cheaper price than buying a direct ticket so looks...

I think they are 'out of gauge' for the roads as well as the ones I have seen are without bogies and pans when on the low loaders.

I was on a 350 unit from Rugby to Watford yesterday and through both Linslade and Northchurch tunnels there was what I presumed to be ice "bouncing" off the train, and I saw another 350 at Watford with yellow tape over a broken window.

I have checked this sale out as I travel regularly from Rugby to Watford on a Saturday! Problem is that the sale prices are only a penny cheaper up until the fare price change and then they are 49p more expensive than buying a Super Off Peak return! Not that I am complaining as my ticket is...

I've never had any issues when I've asked for split ticket combinations or been advised that I "need to leave the station" and I've done it numerous times at quite a few booking offices. In fact I was once advised that "splitting" a journey was the cheapest option!

Most likely will be conveying Arsenal as they are playing at Wigan on the 22nd with a 12:45 kick off. I'm sure they regularly travel by train to games in the North West.

57308 was in the south end bay at Rugby today minus Virgin logos and nameplates.

The silver and maroon coaches are the DB managers train, which is formed of a DVT (82146) and 3 Mk3 coaches (10211, 10546 & 11039). The blue and grey coaches were Mk2 coaches, ex Cargo D I believe.

It is at a weekend! Friday 27th until Sunday 29th July are the dates of the gala.
