    EMR Regional and Connect refurbishments

In a recent edition of Today's Railways UK it was stated EMR only diagram about 30 out of 43 170s daily- last Thursday I went passed Eastcroft at lunch time on the way to Skeggy and there were plenty of 170s there so correct, maybe some could go to Northern who struggle more.

Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

Exactly so annoying. How did your courier do? In most cases for me in get delivered to a shop so never see the courier. A few days after receiving something off Ebay email going on about feedback, text from bank, how did your visit go? Text from council how was the service when you phoned. It's...

    Supermarkets discussion

    Supermarkets discussion

Regarding bags I work in a supermarket and it never ceases to amaze me people not providing/bringing in their own bags. This year will be 10 years since all large retailers have been legally obliged to charge for bags so you'd think they would bring their own by now. Personally I prefer bigger...

    Battlefield line

We visited Market Bosworth Sunday 10th Aug for their Model event in the goods shed and in the big tent. Very good. Lots of good buys. Bought 2 items, my nephew did too. The 33 was running plus Fred. Wasn't really busy sadly, hope the Saturday was better. Didn't see much publicity beforehand...

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

Doesn't look like it. 4 diagrams today according to RTT are 730s (730212/213/217 and 218) others are 350s.

Porterbrook Cl.769 'Flex' trains from 319s, initially for Northern

Agree. I feel sorry for regular passengers on this route. A quick look on RTT sees just 4 in use today. Only 3 or 4 in use yesterday I believe too. With 10 in the Northern fleet Northern Rail must be getting poor value as I presume they pay leasing charges whether their in use or not?

TfW Class 67+Mk4 sets: trip planning/experiences, diagram updates etc

197s yes certainly have their problems of course but just by looking at this thread these are sadly worse and not reliable enough currently.

TfW Class 67+Mk4 sets: trip planning/experiences, diagram updates etc

Agreed Topoligacal. It's clear reliability and availability getting no better so not a bad idea more 197s and bin Mk4s

A scam phone calls and emails discussion.

I had that one in my Spam Text folder a while ago. Also yesterday had an email from FB saying someone's tried to log into my account, I went into my FB settings and couldn't see anything untoward.

    Transport for Wales Class 230

Also worth noting that the 67/Mk4 availability and reliability has been abysmal with frequent breakdowns and failures recently too, for example only 2 out of 4 diagrams are covered today so 197s streched.

EMR Class 222’s - declining reliability

I'm sorry but I strongly disagree. The 222s are a great train but are heavily used, Lumo should use electric trains on a wholly electrified route, with Avanti using only electric trains into Euston seems a backwards step having diesels back there. Also it's not fair for passengers weekends can...

Porterbrook Cl.769 'Flex' trains from 319s, initially for Northern

According to RTT only 424, 434, 448 and 450 are out in service today.

EMR Class 222’s - declining reliability

I wonder how struggling EMR will manage with up to 5 less units? Reduced services? Reduced length services? End of Lincoln service? Clearly something will have to give. Lumo should be blocked taking any units until 810s enter service.

A scam phone calls and emails discussion.

I had a call on Tuesday around 09.00, I missed it, it rang a few seconds later and I answered and there was an automated message saying "please add me on WhatsApp". No way at all. Was a mobile number which I didn't recognise. Anyone else had this?

A scam phone calls and emails discussion.

Of course it's a Spam but not sure if anyone's had an email from an Omar Waleed, Special Business Offer, mentions in it "Financial Bond and assets acquisition...." deleted of course. I also have a run of regular Spam emails then non for a few weeks, Anyone else notice this?

    GWR Class 165/166 Turbo Diagrams

We've been away at Dawlish the last week and seen 165 and 166s. Mostly 3 cars, a few 2 car 165s, we went to Paignton on Friday on 166201,to say it was hot inside is an understatement! Hopefully the arrival of 175s will ease pressure on these trains.

Areas with no Sunday bus provision

Spalding is one of the largest towns (30500 pop) with no Sunday rail service and looking at Google quite a limited bus service.

Porterbrook Cl.769 'Flex' trains from 319s, initially for Northern

This thread goes back to Dec 2016, these entered service in May 2021, just over 4 years ago, still awfully unreliable but sadly nothing is available to replace these yet so Northern can't bin them off yet. Regarding TFW 158 these won't sadly be available for some time yet.
