The plan is for all GC Bradford-London trains and Northern trains EXCEPT those to/from Manchester and Blackpool to call. All short working trains will call.

Maybe a recent change since franchise change. A few years ago, a friend and I set off on a day out from an unstaffed station, knowing tickets are issued on the train. Family day rover issued on normal railway stock. OK. Bus drivers a bit iffy as it was a railway ticket so only used it on the...
They will issue a family day ticket at the current price but it is only valid on the trains as it issued as a train ticket.

Just wondering when they decided that first class fares were allowed to have a 16-25 discount??
When I held one of these (the students rail card as known) it was limited before 10 am and not valid in first class (only senior rail card valid)

Yes, but the ones issued on the train are only valid on the trains (and the ones issued on the bus are only valid on the buses).

Not sure about the bus timetables being produced by the bus companies. Until recently, some routes had evening journeys run by a different operator, resulting in two...
The original weekday evening North Bradford Electrics timetable had hourly trains on the Skipton-Leeds and Forster Square-Leeds routes, with an option to travel Skipton-Leeds every half hour by changing at Shipley on the opposite service.
Customers generally preferred to have a half-hourly...

Originally the Cas-Leeds (only) train would've been on the Goole line timetable, but after the Hallam locals were diverted this way, the Hallam timetable showed the complete service, and any short working, though actually part of the Pontefract services, was removed from the Pontefract...

They could have printed the numbers on the map. Unfortunately the numbers are similar to the old well-known national timetable numbers but not the same.
So looking like I need 5 ? timetables for my Bradford-York journey!!
Bradford-Ilkley, the evening bus service no longer runs, meaning there is now no direct bus on the route.
Bradford-Otley, the current limited service from end of this month. is to be increased to hourly during the day on the former route via Menston.

Between York and Sheffield, the direct ie not via Leeds, trains ran non-stop via Pontefract Baghill, until the opening of the Selby diversion meant trains could call at Doncaster without losing time

I vaguely remember traveling to Birmingham/Solihull about 1980. Leeds to New Street trains were around every 2 hours, hourly from Sheffield. The New Street to Reading etc services mainly called at Solihull.

London's was more high profile, fares reduced by around a third, but only lasted for a year, so I didn't use this as an example.
Sheffield fares were low for a few years, a three-mile journey costing less than a mile journey in West Yorkshire.

Not free, but Sheffield had a cheap bus and rail policy early 1980s, financed by the "rates".
The policy was later declared illegal, fares increased and traffic on the roads increased.

Ironically it's not allowed to be made in Stilton
