    Granada Tram

I notice from the Wikipedia entry for the Granada team that it will finally start a service (not entire network) during March after a number of false starts. When I visited in mid 2015, the above ground sections looked largely complete so progress looks to have been slow.

    The exciting railway event?

I agree wholeheartedly with the voyagers. I'm not so sure about the 170s. I think they are pretty good stock, but aren't being used for what they should be. They are neither suitable for 3h+ intercity journeys, nor for the crush loadings on the New Street commuter services.

It is also quite a bit quicker, and you don't need to export it. It is usable at last.

Railway safety videos - they don't make them like this any more...

The electricity council made a number of this type of film in the 1980s, some of which were uncomfortable viewing. Powerful Stuff

What Japanese Jingle would your rail line have?

Great Western - Rudi by Supertramp. Whilst several stations are in the song, Chippenham must be the most surreal

Any more news on Ilkeston station?

Some of these are conurbation issues though. Dudley has DDP nearby, Newcastle is part of the Stoke conurbation, and West Bridgford is only not part of Nottingham due to the wacky boundary between city and county.

    Nottingham 'Bus War'

I guess they will still be using the same vehicles as zoom so they will have the card readers configured ready. I really don't understand why they de-branded this route in the first place. It would make sense for wellglade to have a unified ITSO offering IMHO. It always seems odd to me that...

    Potential new station at Landore?

There was a local campaign back in the 90s to reopen cockett station just west of its original location. It came to nought, but I suspect the improvements in service at Gowerton will have killed it off for good now.

Walking quicker than the bus journey

The TWM 74 from Dudley at least as far as Dudley Port, and maybe great bridge must be a contender too. Could really do with an extension to the Midland Metro ;-)

    Passenger Assistance at Staffed Stations

I read the title on the forum list, read it again on the actual post. And still thought"what has scotrail got to do with Stafford station" Amazing how you read what you think it is!

    Nottingham 'Bus War'

Not sure if this has been noted on here previously, and apologies if so. YourBus' 2015/16 financial report now on companies House website. Sorry can't quote anything from it because it is a scanned document, but here anyway Report It certainly looks like the termination of the NatEx contract...

    Trivia: Quietest service?

1Y01, Sheffield to Nottingham springs to mind: very early in the morning, a route learning pathing, and effectively acting as ECS but in service.

How would you run a bus company??

I would add Nottingham City Transport and Reading buses to the list of good municipal operators too. I believe that Newport transport are well thought of too. I still don't understand why NatEx still insist on contracting out their operations. By moving them in house they would gain much...

    Super Commuters

Beeston to Dudley Port. Done it daily for 7 years now. I don't actually mind it all that much, but it does mean using trains designed and operated as short hop commutes, so they do stop frequently, unlike some of the longer InterCity commutes.
