Query re an off peak London to Manchester ticket. The return portion, if i broke journey at Milton Keynes, can I then take any train from there to Manchester on another day?

Using the return portion, would travel on the 1624 on Saturday from Euston to Birmingham be valid, then another West Midlands Trains LNWR from there to Stafford, then another Stafford to Stoke? Seems the nearest direct euston to stoke before 1630 is the 1446?
