What about if someone stated they had come from the furthest possible station away without ticket selling facilities at the station? Is this like to get questioned than the CLOSEST possible station without facilities? Methinks not.

Just out of interest (and this is just a general question), why would the person selling the ticket question where the person came from? Am I guessing this is common practice when people state they have come from the nearest station (so in Leeds it probably would be Burley Park)?

Indeed and its not going to solve the problem of evening services that much. The EMT HST that I missed above is only half an hour after the current last scheduled service, you would still have a last train before 10pm. As for the rest of the evening, there arent a huge number of trains after 7pm...

Last train out of Nottingham towards Sheffield/Chesterfield calls at Ilkeston anyway at 2135, so not much they can do about putting a service on afterwards.

Wlel technically it is right - you get on the train at Bramley and get off at Bradford or Halifax if you want to change onto the Blackpool train ;)
