On 20th May I am travelling Southport to London Euston via Wigan North Western.
I am returning on 21st May and the ticket has a restriction code of 2C and states I can return via any reasonable route.
Code 2C means I have to catch a train after 7PM, but can I travel bacK Euston to Liverpool Lime...
When they extended platforms 2 & 3 at Southport , they blocked off access at the bottom of those two platforms while they excavated to extend the platforms.
My safety concern was to access the Merseyrail platforms 1, 2 & 3 was through a short but narrow corrider.
However it`s all been done now.
As a regular Merseyrail user I can confirm that there are no TVM`s at Bootle New Strand.
There is an *allegedly* manned ticket office open from start to the close of service.
Work won`t be bothered about you losing the ticket as your still paying them back from your wages.
What you can`t do though is ask for another season ticket loan until your current loan expires.
There is nothing to stop you asking Merseytravel for a second replacement all they can do is say no...
Civil Servant here
In the two departments I have worked in my HR Guidance said
I have to notify my manager if
1) I am arrested
2) If I receive a Fixed Penalty Notice
3) If I am convicted in Court
Failure to do so leads me open to being dismissed for Gross Misconduct.
I`m not involved in the Railway industry at all, I am a life time Civil Servant who last year , after 35 years in HMRC at the same grade took a job on promotion in the Home Office to do something completely different and a lot more challenging.
I had exactly the same thoughts as you, but now 3...
@dumbgirl If you are a Civil Servant or applying to be a Civil Servant and your job role requires Developed Vetting it will say so on the advert.
As others have said I would declare everything because then you are being honest, if your not honest it could cost you the opportunity for not being...
I tweeted Northern this morning to ask when the tokens would be available - their response and I quote "We are looking into this for you and will advise you as soon as possible Thank You".
I will update when I get a reply.
Rail UK gets a mention in the Daily Fail in an article about Transport Investigations Limited
Apologies for having to link to a Daily Fail article but the forim gets a mention in this article about the way Transport Investigations Limited deals with ticket irregularaties.
It details some cases...
Me and my dad are travelling between Krakow and Przemysl later this year.
What trains are used on the service ?
Is it worth paying for First Class ?
Thanks
I commute (Southport to Moorfields and back) twice a week for work and I get the £6 ticket (on the Metro card) so if the trains get cancelled I can hop on the X2/47/300 bus and still get home.
To me its worth paying the extra 5p a day for the convenience.
I went to Prenton Park this afternoon to see Tranmere v Wrexahm.
Wrexham won 1-0 and it wasnt a great game but it was good to meet up with an old friend.
Crowd was approx 10500 and Wrexham brought approx 2000.00 (and were very noisy !).
If its a nice day you could consider a day trip to Southport by train - its 43 minutes each way by train.
Or you could get the train to Chester and visit there - its a lovely historic place.
I hope you both enjoy your trip !
