While it was still BR XC as a shadow franchise did any power cars ever have that livery (was there a livery?) I know XC had an identity and applied it in marketing material and to some upholstery?

A very sad and short sighted decision. Surely train planners have all the information when proposing such a service? More innovation and new ideas binned! Working in Shrewsbury and Telford, we definitely need more through trains. Will this ever happen now?

I am booked and have tickets in my hand on an 1805 from Paignton to Birmingham. Then onward to Sheffield on the 2156. Both XC services. When I try to look for that journey on any of the TOC or National Rail websites - it doesn't exist anymore! Am I doing something wrong? I haven't received...

If you are in Majorca and get the chance, take the old electric wooden train (100 years old) from Palma to Soller. Lovely old train (old uni-direction tram seats-not the comfiest but better than a Pacer!) through the orange groves and mountains. Takes about an hour. Soller is a lovely old town...

I put a thread on a few months ago as I was gutted it was being stopped. Excellent example of something being set up to fail. Poor marketing, poor knowledge of staff when we were using it. It was a good product that encouraged two of us to travel together by rail more than we do.

If an open ticket then that in its own right tells you which trains you can travel on. So, I don't really think it is misleading.....
