Maybe not officially short formations assuming they are diagrammed as such, but when a 4 coach train turned up this morning I can assure you it still felt short formed!
Yes - should add this is the pre facelift version of the ID3 too (23 plate) - it may have improved now.
All true - and that's fine really. There isn't much need for chargers faster than that away from service stations.
I really like the look of the Renault 5 and would seriously consider it as a next car if I were at a different stage in life. It's just a bit too small for us at the moment with two children.
RE the Cupra Born - I drive an ID:3 so not hugely different. Really like the car - only downside for us...
Wow. 6 years after they were due to be introduced and SWR didn't ever get around to clearing them on one of the core routes they are due to operate. A shame as they would be perfect for a day like that.
Presumably not something that can be done quickly. I wouldn't fancy being packed in to a...
Can't remember the last time I used a ticket office, following a couple of poor experiences. Some staff are helping their own demise.
Regarding the withdrawal of CCST - how will this work for tickets valid on TFL given the till roll tickets don't work the barriers?
I've had two on train ticket checks by guards (not revenue protection) on local services (Waterloo to Windsor and Clapham to Guildford) in the past two days. I don't think this has happened in all the SWR years.
Is this a new thing or just coincidence?
Has the rejig of diagrams pushed more short formations on to Windsor services? Two 4 coach trains in the past two days for me. Surely there are spare 450's kicking about on weekends
Why did I assume the SWR/ LNER apps would have the same functionality?
Or why will I have to make do with paper tickets while the offer is ongoing?
I assumed the apps from both TOC would have the same functionality given they both sell tickets and offer smart cards.
I'll make do with a paper...
Thanks - had assumed the app would have the same functionality as the SWR app which just does it via the phone. Will just make do with a paper ticket while the cashback offer is ongoing!
Thanks, it's a bit confusing because one part of their FAQ does say that, but then further down:
Can I load other Train Company products onto my LNER Smartcard?
Yes, where these have been made available.
Which I take to mean I should be able to load that ticket, assuming I buy via LNER.
I'm using LNER at the moment because of the Amex deal. If I order an LNER smart card can any ticket available on smart card be uploaded to it, assuming is is purchased via the LNER site?
In my case this would be an Ashford to London zones 1-6 travel card which I currently upload to my SWR smart...
Have SWR objectively made any improvements since they took over? They are leaving it in a far worse state than they inherited. Ultimately they have been in charge for 8 years and we have fewer services and shorter trains than when they took over.
Absolutely crazy to run single units on Reading services given SWR have already cut those to the bone. Can't believe there isn't something else that couldn't have been shortened elsewhere even if it meant a couple of 8 vice 12 on the mainline side.
The 15.52 Waterloo to Weybridge was a 4 car...
No - and no service on SWR beyond Kew Bridge/ Richmond towards Waterloo - so pretty inconvenient for large parts of West London to travel in to central London on Sunday. A little coordination between TfL and NR would have been nice.
That's really disappointing, so we'll still be getting peak time 4 coach trains via Hounslow until December.
Changing something so poor would be such an easy win, I would have hoped the 4 (or 5, if there are any left) coach diagrams would swap for a 701 sooner than December.
Totally agree, I really hope this is going to be introduced as a quick win for GBR, presented as spending money for passenger benefit rather than giving First their "free money"
With driver training now back, will this help the units which are not yet ready for passenger service be ready any...
