I used the new site for the first time today, booking around £400 worth of tickets.
I love the seat selector - really easy to sit my two bookings together.
It turned out to be a combination of advance tickets - has the share of savings fee been removed? I was expecting to be charged one
Interesting they can do ticket checks at Fratton on matchdays, yet Kew Bridge is apparently unsuitable. I wonder how the risk assessments for both came to different conclusions.
Yes true - but they could pick any of the ungated stations between Kew Bridge and Ashford on a given match day (or indeed any other day!) and make a fair bit of money. It's rare to see any revenue protection on the Windsor lines in my experience.
The fact that large numbers of people arrive and...
Narrow staircase and footbridge, not accessible, large gap between train and platform and an inadequate service.
Not to mention the times when SWR have forgotten to send someone with the keys to open the access tunnel
Agree - I've mentioned this before but I can't believe that SWR never send a revenue team to Kew Bridge on event days. They would be raking it in.
With my cynical hat on, it probably suits SWR not to check revenue on this line as it artificially suppresses the passenger numbers - the service...
Once off lease do they immediately become the ROSCO's problem? And if so can SWR insist they are taken off their depot promptly? The last thing we need is this further delaying the 701 rollout.
A single 455 on a peak Waterloo to Weybridge via Hounslow today. The excuse generator has come up with something original as a reason.
Image shows a screenshot from journey check advising the 06.32 from Weybridge to Waterloo will be formed of 4 coaches due to military eye defence.
I suspect you are right overall, however I am just over the border in Spelthorne (by about 500 yards) and have a much higher council tax than houses is LB Hounslow, and much higher train fare as we're not in the zones - despite Ashford station being parallel to Heathrow airport which is in the...
I like RTT providing this information.
On the other hand I don't think SWR should on their screens. Its not a great look to see 'An SWR Arterio Service Cancelled due to a fault on this train'
I get the option to add to smart card when purchasing a day travelcard on the SWR app.
I would recommend using a totally separate smart card for tap2go. I've had charging errors on several occasions when mixing the two.
Given the intention was to run them as 12 coach trains this was never, at any stage, a sensible project and this should have been known prior to spending millions of pounds of taxpayers cash on a pointless refurb.
@Big Jumby 74 has summed up the issues on the main 458 thread:
I thought Staines was 2x 8 coach and 2x 10 coach?
I guess there will still be some booked 450 work. Either way hopefully the solution doesn't involve cutting back the late night Staines terminators to Feltham.
Given the closure between Barnes and Kew Bridge next week there should be some additional resource. It always seems to be much easier to cut services than to reintroduce them though so it may not result in any changes.
Anyone had a new offer? My last one expired on the 8th and a new one has usually appeared a day or two later. I'm beginning to think it may not return :'(
