Can confirm it was absolutely horrible. Control should really pull some stops at the inner stations when this happens to ensure those for Whitton/ Ashford and stations to Windsor not served by other services can board and not be delayed 30 mins.
This is my morning train. Pleased capacity is...
I've found contactless payments can be hit and miss even if they are theoretically accepted but I've never had an issue using my Electroverse card.
Plug and charge (no card needed) should also become more common, currently limited to only a few Ionity sites in the UK I think (excluding Tesla...
That and the fact none of the geniuses in charge thought to check whether a 12 coach 458/4 formation would actually be practical to use on Portsmouth services before spending millions on the refurb.
Are SWR going to fix the broken units or are short forms just going to get worse until all the...
Ridiculous that the Hounslow rounders aren't back off peak yet.
No doubt SWR will still claim no one is traveling post COVID. Not that they would know as there is never any revenue protection on that route
A bit of a clown show everywhere on the Windsor side today with the points failure at Staines earlier too.
Not ideal with rugby at Twickenham and football at Brentford.
Currently on 5732 17.40 Weybridge to Waterloo. Likely to be my last ride on a 455.
... And hopefully my last moan about still running 4 carriage 455's many years after they should have been replaced.
Is this still the case? Specifically for the 10:52 Sheffield to St Pancras on Sunday. I had a look on the GWR site and it appears I am able to reserve seats on other services that day but nothing is displayed for the 10:52 - I am arriving in to Sheffield at 10:33 so don't want to potentially be...
I'm having some issues claiming from TPE for a delay last Sunday.
I travelled from Kings Cross to Liverpool Lime Street, changing at Leeds.
The LNER was late in to Leeds but we managed to make the connection to the TPE service (which was also late). The TPE was then cancelled from Manchester...
I've just booked a couple of journeys including EMR (as part of a longer journey) but the site wouldn't give me a seat reservation for the EMR journey only.. both times it included Sheffield to London.
Is this an error? Or is there any other way to reserve a seat? It's an advanced ticket for...
It's a fairly rubbish claim. Capacity across the SWR network has been slashed since 2020. This tiny increase barely registers, especially given it isn't true on most days as there are inevitably short forms on a daily basis.
Pretty surprising that the old South West Trains information stickers have survived all that!
... and pretty unsurprising we're still being subject to 4 coach 455's on Windsor and Weybridge services despite all this 'new' stock arriving weekly <(
Yes - in this case neither line was closed. According to RTT the Windsor trains have been calling at Putney P1 all day - can confirm it was the case on the two services I was on (0711 and 1611 from Ashford).
Is the 'swap' between fast and slow lines between Barnes and Clapham (in that direction only) in any way related to the 701 introduction? An issue with one of the platforms?
Unsure how long it's been going on but everything from Windsor has been using Putney platform 1 today at least, with...
Exactly the same happened with the stations in the rollout that eventually took place last year. I forget which phase it was but it included Feltham - Windsor/ Virginia Water (but stupidly not to Reading).
Passengers shafted again.
Given the track record of this project I have no faith at all that this will happen.
Assuming it fails - will the 455's stay on or will it be a case of (more) short forms and cancellations until the 701's eventually enter service?
I am somewhat surprised by that. I think the criteria is already very generous when compared to (for example) council administered disabled bus passes.
