The other thing to bear in mind is the distance to your local station. An hour or two commute is one thing, but if you end up with a half hour drive at either end because of traffic, that could be a real killer.

The Travelodge at Southwark is perfect for this. Two minutes from the tube on the Jubilee which runs to Wembley. There is a Premier Inn there, too, but it's a few extra minutes walk (but a bit nicer).
