Are there usually any Lincoln-Sheffield or Sheffield-Lincoln services on a Saturday which are very crowded and are best avoided?

I've often found the early Lincoln service is very quiet.. Just after 8:40 something?
The 0944, 1044 and 1144 can get busy but never full and standing and by the time the train reaches Worksop and Retford it normally clears slightly.
Later on in the day isn't too bad and then services get busier towards 5 but never too bad.

On Saturdays I've found SHF to LCN trains (which I catch on a rare occasion), from 8am ish to 1:45pmish to be fairly quiet and not very busy at all. I've never caught a SHF to LCN or LCN to SHF train that I've stood on or struggled to find a seat on!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of traveling into Lincolnshire ;)

It's like that to stop you frim folk...;)

Seriously though it is detrimental to the general public with regard to travel on a Sunday. However at times the political will isn't there. There used to be a small group of council tendered bus services on a Sunday around Grantham, but when county council withdrew support it has just left a Lincoln - Grantham bus that runs 4 round trips with no other services in the town.

We have also asked South Yorkshire PTE to work with Nottinghamshire County Council to provide some sort of bus service from Sheffield eastwards towards Gainsborough as their used to be a route 85 from Sheffield to Gainsborough.

South Yorkshire PTE say it is Network Rail's fault the line is closed on a Sunday morning and it is for them to provide a replacement service.

We did try :(
