Shunting at March

Good film, but I nearly died when I saw the shunters chasing after the waggons, one slip and you are dead.
All the trains seem to be Class 9, and its good to see the lads using the shunting pole,

Hi,

Really enjoyed watching that, i never realized Whitemoor yard was that big.
I love watching old films like that and the quality of the film was fantastic,

In the war a spoof Whitemoor was built just down the road which was a huge area of fenland full of lights to attract the German bombers to the wrong place.Whitemoor was critically important then especially as a coal truck sorting yard.

It was bombed too and one day a German aircraft flew at roof level down March high street machine gunning locals.

Very interesting film. Good to see the old Anglia Knight in the idents too. Looking at the UEA site thre are a handful of other old films on railways.

I know there is a South West TV and Film archive in Plymouth but I am uncertain as to whether any film is available on line. I'm sure there must be lots of archived film and video of railways from the BBC South West and good old Westward TV (the best ever regional TV station) Does anyone know if there are other regional archives with rail film and video available on line?
