What if the additional capacity came in the form of older 100 mph emu sets such as class 365s or 333s obviously pathed to keep out of the way of 125 mph services as much as possible ?
IThe minimum age to drive on the London Underground has been 18 for a very long time but I’m guessing once the Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines get their new trains there will no manual driving except in degraded situations.
Certain sections of the A1 are single carriageway and therefore a 50 mph limit applies to PCVs. But these are often quite wide and straight - surely there is scope for increasing speed on these to roads to 60 mph?

Also this system only controls adherence to speed limits - it does not monitor or control speed on approach to adverse signals like ATP/ ETCS does. KVB does better than TASS in that way.
I thought lumo competed with low cost airlines not coaches. The provision of an on board trolley service alone serving hot/cold drinks sets them from road transport where staying seated and belted is the law.
