Thank you very much gents.
The Any Permitted + SSR ticket has a code 9F restriction
"Via Birmingham XC Not Before 0930"
1. Could I still use the SSR on the 0720 Chiltern train from HWY - Birmingham Moor St ( arr 0859 ). As I won't be travelling to BMO on XC trains I assume the 9F restriction...
Greetings !
I'm planning the above journey in the coming weeks and would like to take in the Settle - Carlisle line en route. I've a choice of purchasing a "via London " ticket or one via Banbury / Birmingham New Street. After delving into the routing guide if I travel via Banbury then I'm given...
Some of the North London Line stations in the Silverlink days were pretty grim. Hackney Wick, Homerton and Kentish Town West to name but a few. The stations on the GOBLIN don't cover themselves in glory either. Leyton Midland and Leytonstone High Road are depressing sights.

b0b,
If you continued the journey from Leeds - York the next day using XC trains ( which came via Birmingham New Street) then would restriction code 2V apply ? In OP's scenario would his ticket be valid on a XC train at 9 or 10am train from Leeds ?
Cheers,
Z
Cheers transportphoto.
Looks like there were two football specials coming down from the North. NSEFAN has kindly put up pics of the DRS class 47 train ( Barrow - Wembley) in the photography / vid section.
Thanks.

Saw two very odd looking sets going northbound through Beaconsfield yesterday both within 20 mins of each other. Just caught a glimpse of a DRS loco of one of the sets but was not sure which class. The other was a long rake of old Virgin livered coaches. Could anyone kindly shed some light ...
Thanks for that John. I am intrigued as to how they managed to get CDRs bought from Chiltern stations Kings Sutton, Banbury and Leamington Spa to BHM to be refused on any trains in either direction on Mondays to Fridays before 0930, or between 1530 and 1815 ...
Excellent, that is very re-assuring. I am quite surprised that it is valid. Do a lot of people use that ticket between the two stations and if so does this not lose XC revenue ? They could easily refuse to accept such tickets and enforce their own ticket pricing on XC trains. Something similar...
Thanks !
This ticket used to be called the "Just 18" ticket ( or something similar) and at the time I was specifically told that if I embarked on a High Wycombe - Birmingham Stns journey using this ticket I could not get off at Banbury and use the Virgin XC service onwards to Birmingham. I had...
Hi,
I'm just planning a Bank Holiday journey to the beautiful north and upon checking the various tickets / times on Trainline I am listed the return leg of a "Super Off Peak Return" ( £19.50) , travelling from Birmingham Moor St. to High Wycombe, to be via New Street - Banbury on Arriva XC...
I was wondering if anyone has heard of this discount card. It can be obtained by BCC employees and offers 50% discount on local buses and 34% discount on Chiltern Railways. Could one purchase a Chiltern Railways station to London discounted One Day Travelcard using this card ? Would you also be...
I'm not sure if you sat in a Class 165/0 but these were first rolled out on the Chiltern Line about 1990/91 so I guess they would be showing signs of wear and tear, even after refurbishment.
Thanks Geoff ! What a classic set of photographs ! When was the last time the Neasden curve carried a non railtour passenger service ? The whole diversion and reversals around Neasden, Willesden Sidings, Acton, The Mitre Bridge and Wembley must have pleased the line bashers.
There are two...
I don't want to be scaremonger but the centre of Aylesbury itself does not have too many attractions ( I'm sure Mojo would agree !) but once you venture outwards there is plenty ! Hartwell House is in a beautiful place called Stone If you feel up to it then the Grand Union Canal has an arm which...
